Joshua: "Against Wilder I will win by knockout within the sixth round" Here is the statement that you don't expect. Anthony Joshua's interview with Sky Sport in which he declares that in a possible reunification match against Deontay Wilder will aim to beat him by knockout within the sixth round raised a certain uproar. The heavyweight champion IBF, WBO, IBO, WBA is always very confident that if Deontay Wilder manages to overcome Tyson Fury on January 22, public opinion and above all the television sponsors will push Wilder to accept a challenge that will go down in history. "I closely followed Wilder's match against Ortiz and strengthened my idea of how I can beat him-AJ said- It will be a fight in which I will not try to beat him on points in 12 rounds, because he has a powerful shot that can close the match at any time, but it's slow in the first rounds. I have to get in the ring to knock him out. You don't have to leave him too comfortable in the ring. Wilder has a lot of power and so it's about eliminating this danger and now I'm just studying how to deal with it. I guess I won't get him into round 7. My whole strategy will be set to knock him out soon. " Meanwhile Joshua has not yet officially confirmed the next match against IBF challenger Kubrat Pulev, but it is quite likely that he will face it in April. Will it be as he says? In your opinion?
Yeah…no he hasn't. He's merely learned how to haul ass a little better. Wlad had him a little freaked, Ruiz put the cherry on top and scared the living **** out of him, Wilder mortifies him.
Good to hear AJ say that. No way he boxes Wilder without getting slept. May as well throw with him and hope he lands first
You always seem to forget AJ has had half the fights of wilder, and you still knock the guy.. I thought you were a boxing fan, does that not include unbiased opinions on fighters whether you personally like them or not? Seems not. Shame.
Wait? So everyone mocks Wilder for having twice the fights and not stepping up as quickly as AJ, and that AJ has accomplished far more in half as many fights and that that points towards Wilder being a bum.... and now you're all using that as evidence of AJ's inexperience because its a convenient excuse if he loses? Sorry, that one ain't going to work. Shame.
Hes on to the right strategy, so I agree with his assessment. And if he actually goes in and tries it... its anybody's fight, imo. Too bad it wont happen. So this is all just BS thats flirting with what will never be.
Lol.. but how can you knock him as you do for what he's done in and for the game as a boxing fan and laud over wilder who is an embarrassment to the game? Couldn't make it up, aye. There we go, boxing fans for you.
