I agree with AJ and been saying it since Wilder decided to talk AJ's name after watching him fight in live the UK against Klitschko. AJ is gonna decimate Wilder viciously inside of 6 rounds. Wilder is a smokescreen who has been carefully navigated through his career with poor opponents to make him look like a killer. He is a right hand, nothing more then that. That can be taken away by a top fighter like AJ.
In the 2nd fight Joshua wasn’t just wary of Ruiz punching power he was well aware that he had fast hands, could judge distance and was great on the counter. Other than a Hail Mary right hand Wilder has NONE of those attributes so Joshua doesn’t fear Wilder enough to “fight scared”. Joshua has way more than enough power in either hand to drop Wilder and he can deliver power shots at range, up close or within combinations. My guess is that if they fight Wilder will come out swinging from round one and we won’t see the slow starts he’s become noted for. Wilder will not want to wait around for Joshua to land a combination any more than Joshua wants to stick around till Wilder gets his looping right on target. If either lands then it’s goodnight for the other but I’ll back the better boxer to get the job done and that’s Joshua by a distance.
Fury vs Wilder: Fury win 60% Ruiz vs Wilder: Ruiz win 70% AJ vs Wilder: AJ win 80% If Wilder didnt have the right hand all of them would win at 90%. Wilders jab is overrated, his chin never decently tested imho. Wilder has one belt and one shot in the arsenal...all the other instead have more shots/skills and detain (Joshua) or have detained (Fury and Ruiz) more belts.
I could see Wilder slipping in a puddle AJ has made within the first few rounds and taking a KO blow to the back of his head on landing. I expect a run all night gameplan from AJ if this fight ever happens. Stand and trade with Wilder would be the dumbest gameplan as he actually has all the tools to beat Wilder on points.
Because I don't like him all that much. And because of that, I like to try to pour water on the hype, and bring logic into the equation. He's overrated, flawed as hell and has many shortcomings to be exploited. Joshua gets nothing but praise, Wilder has got nothing but bashing for the last decade, yet Wilder had to make it the hard way, take the slow route, Joshua was gifted a gold medal and handed everything on a silver platter by Eddie Hearn. Everyone knows how bad and flawed Wilder's skill-set is, it's repeated ad nauseam on here daily, but there's not nearly enough people criticizing Joshua to balance things out. All that notwithstanding, Wilder will still most likely destroy AJ, which will send most people who are in denial into a complete tailspin.
Could be earlier. First punch Joshua lands on that fragile mandible, Wilder's taking a canvas nap. Of course, Joshua could get slept too, but I think the skill gap will militate against that.
He has concrete in his feet, and plods. Yeah he has some nice quick combination punching, but Wilder would have little problem keeping him at range and bombing him out. Just an awful matchup for Ruiz. I say that without a ton of confidence in Wilder as a whole, I think he loses to both Fury and AJ, but Ruiz........naw.
You could be right but some days ago Holyfield said Ruiz is a hell of fighter. Im on that line thinking...he tooks many bombs from Joshua on December without batting an eyelid.
AJ knows he has to put Wilder away early. "Got to put him away early" a great man once said...... This content is protected
Balboa was koed, got up and won with Clubber...I dont know if AJ could get up and then win for KO or even for decision but he could do better than Balboa trying to stop Wilder avoiding to take too many bombs on his face.
