Can anyone do a division by division breakdown?
Which year had the better prospects, contenders, Champions, Top 10-100? Etc.

    1920s - 8 weight divisions
1920s - 1 World Championship Belt per division
    1920s - 8 World Champions

    2020s - 17 weight divisions
2020s - 5 World Championship Belts per division
    2020s - 85 World Champions

    1920s - BETTER!

It would be funny picturing how this board would react to Wilder losing two of three times to an obese flyweight like Dempsey did to Meehan.

Or watching the board defend Fury for drawing the color line on Wilder and Joshua.

That'll be difficult since ring didn't start ranking fighters until 1924. You could look up who the champs were in the original eight weight classes on wikipedia but you'd need some historical familiarity with the era that most people don't possess to know more. This looks like a question for the Classic section, though they'll likely just ignore it like they do most threads requesting information or that aren't about Rocky Marciano.

What do you mean the 1920s are better? We have ten times as many champions!

1920 wins due to superior nicknames, like Old Chocolate Johnson and The Phantom with the Paint Gun in his Trousers

I mean... that's just metadata. Says nothing about relative quality.

I respectfully disagree. To me it fostered an environment that encouraged far more risk-taking when managing a career path.
