Stevenson was was more skilled than Wilder. Both held the belt hostage for far too long but the Pimp was a better boxer. He just didn’t like fighting tough opponents.

Wilder is a strange bird. He has amazing punching power but it’s hard to really gauge how good he is because of his level of opposition. Fury beat him in their first fight and that version of fury still had a lot of rust and flab. The next fight will be a true test. If wilder goes on to KO Fury or win decisively, and he beats AJ and maybe Usyk, you have to give the man his props. I like watching Wilder fight. No matter how badly he is being outboxed, he’s got the nuclear option in that right hand. His left hook is good as well and he carries his power deep into fights.

I can’t decide who I want to win the fight against Fury. Hopefully the end result is not controversial and the winner goes on to fight top guys. I think Fury is more likely to fight AJ so I would lean towards him. Also, Fury beat Wilder when he was not his best. This version of Fury should be sharper and better. I say should because this is boxing and anything is possible. Especially with a guy like Wilder. He could lose every second of every round and KO the guy in the final round. Nothing would surprise me at this point. Makes it a fun fight, at least potentially.

I’ve always felt Wilder’s career resembled Nikolai Valuev’s

I kind of agree in that Wilder can be good to watch, it's just after the fight when he opens his pie hole and all this delusional shite starts pouring out that I have issue with the guy. It makes me want to relocate to the States so I can purchase a high powered Barrett .50 cal and start taking pot shots at him. That's how ****ing annoying I find him because of his grand standing and delusion

He gets the job done, yeah.
Its the how and against who that is being questioned.
Doesn’t take much to KO unranked fighters but even then, with the level of competition he’s had, he managed to look horrible.

The difference is GGG was ducked or at least heavily avoided.

He is not the first. I loved Ali but couldn’t stand the crazy things he said before and after fights. Just trying to sell the fight to casuals. I give Wilder the benefit of the doubt and don’t take that stuff seriously. I’m mainly interested in what goes on between the ropes. My biggest gripe about wilder is his choice of opponents and I have no problem with the Fury selection. Personally, I don’t like the crazy stuff Fury says when he’s in carnival barker mode. When he’s serious, he’s actually a pretty likable guy. Boxing is a tough sport. Selling the fight is half the battle, especially then the opponent is crap. Wilder doesn’t have to sell this one. It’s a great matchup and contrast of styles.

Except GGG was avoided by everyone for a long, long time. Wilder ducked the whole division. GGG will fight anyone, Wilder cherrypicks guys that can't hurt him.

Say what you want about wilder but he's got heart and will swing until his last breath, proved that against fury.

Who cares about fundimentals when you have Thor's hammer in your right glove.

Would rather be wilder than a Paulie with all the footwork and technique in the world

Very similar, except that Golovkin has had more options to fight high quality opposition but has not whereas Wilder fights at HW where the talent pool is more shallow that the Middleweights yet have a very similar record.

    Myth.

Golovkin has stated between 2012-2017 that he would fight anyone between 154-168 on multiple occasions. He had the opportunity and at the very least was called out by multiple top level operators that fought within those weightclasses between 2012-2019, but Golovkin ignored them or flat out rejected them.

Tbh I totally disagree with that statements. Could you bring some examples? Other then some fighters' declarations, 'cause talk is cheap...

not a Golovkin hater at all but as time ticks on and i look back at his career, I’m kinda like meh.

If he never knocked down Jacobs he wouldn’t have got the W. Same with Derevwhatshisname.

He 100% lost the return fight against canelo. Even if he did get the W in many fans eyes in the first fight, it was nip and tuck. Fight 2 showed us who was better.

In 10 years GGG is gonna be looked at kinda like joecal, perhaps even worse.

    no hate
