I doubt Marciano hit any harder than Cleveland Williams, and possibly not appreciably harder than DeJohn or Valdes. And I''m absolutely certain Marciano never faced a puncher as hard hitting as Liston!

The key is how well a fighter does when he moves up in class- Liston looked impressive to me but was KO'd 2x by Ali 1- quit so not sure how Liston would react to a real puncher- we know how he reacted to someone who had no fear of him Clay/Ali
