LOL, Sugar and Merchant are jokes......a fairy story teller and a drunk HBO shill

So, for all you Marciano worshipers tell me what he would do to win.....I do not want to hear 'volume punching, sheer will, brutal KO power" or other associated non sense , show me a blur print how he would fare against prime Tucker.....how he would overcome a 6'5 fighter, 81 inch reach, around 220 in shape , with a great Amateur back ground, who was 35-0 when he faced Tyson, never had any conditioning problems , was always in shape, had a granite chin good upper cut, great footwork/speed, was fresh and not old with 123354 fights on the clock and had tons of Ring IQ.....

For reference, after Tyson and lots of coke he went 50-1 before he ran into Lennox Lewis..........even later, and older, the Killer of all Killers , according to forum gospel old Grandpa Foreman who , again according to legend would wax prime Tyson without breaking a sweat.....rather got stripped then to face old Tucker........

Now if one thinks I am some kind of marciano hater I am not.......for example him and Frazier are a pick em fight.......I could go even as far as that he has a chance to beat a glass chinned Heavy like Moorer......I would not pick him in both but I could see the other side of the coin.

Tucker ? LOL, he is all wrong for Marciano, end of......he never ever faced a skilled freah fighter like Tucker, it would be ugly, it would be bloody and it would be a miracle if he goes the distance....best case a modern ref stops it on major cuts or worst he case he gets stopped while blind, outgunned , out sized and out skilled

Mike Tyson anyone? Orlin Norris was all wrong for Tucker. He never beat him in most people’s eyes. How tall was Norris? Shorter than Marciano.

So how come Tucker could never decisively beat 5’9” Orlin Norris? Marciano knocked out 6’5” guys along the way. Most notably Unbeaten Vingo and 220lb Johnny Shkor so it is not like Rocky cannot reach the chin of tall fighters or has no form against tall heavyweights.

Yeah Tucker had a great Amateur background..so did Audley Harrison and Pete Radmacher.

I notice you don’t care to list the decent fighters Tucker fought within his 35-0. 99% of those guys stank. The other 1% represent James Broad after Marvis Frazier beat him ...and the unknown Douglas who quit from ahead because he did not believe in himself. An entire 35-0 career worthy of only the USBA title level. Tucker was lucky the Douglas fight was somehow promoted to Vacant IBF title level only because Bob Lee wanted the belt occupied before Tyson could unify..

oh here we go, Before Tucker lost to Tyson He was invincible. After he lost to Tyson he was full of coke...

you probably won’t know Marciano was not the favourite to beat Rex Layne who was 23 years old, heavier than Rocky, taller than Rocky and with a record of 34-1 that most certainly would have been 35-0 had Rex been fighting the bums Tucker had. As it was Rex had already been beating contenders rated by ring magazine like Walcott, Satterfeild and Turkey Thompson. Where as Tucker had not registered a single win against a fighter currently rated in the ring magazine top ten.

You'll note that it's generally died in the wool Tyson worshipers who have turned him into this monster basically to make their guy look even better.

His moderate record and underwhelming performances sure don't indicate that he was this "force" in the division. He was big, had decent skills and could survive against the best guys without coming close to winning. The fact he struggled with a midget like Orlin Norris doesn't fill me with any awe about him.

Vingo was 6'4"and 189lbs ,and he wasn't unbeaten he had lost to182lbs Joe Lindsay who was 2-0-1.Vingo was a string bean, Tucker typically weighed 225/230lbs, 25/30lbs heavier than Vingo.
Vingo was a novice who had only fought 4 and six rounders the Marciano bout was his first ten rounder.
Schkor had been kod in one round in his last fight his record was 30-18-2,he would have one more fight lose it and retire.Oh and he was 6'4.5"

Norris was 213 and 218 lb for the Tucker fights. What did Marciano weigh?

So 6’4” is not comparable to 6’5”? I guess I got that wrong...

So is Deontay Wider. Sometimes it is good to be a string bean.

indeed he had. But you would think fighting a tiny little guy like Marciano, so much shorter, so clumsy, cut prone and 30lb lighter would have had odds in his favour wouldn’t you?

The difference between 6’4.5” and 6’5” can be how you comb your hair. Remember those days mcvey?

Yes Marciano was stepped up against Layne

Yes you got it wrong by an imperial inch or if you prefer 25mm.Just as you got it wrong when you said he was unbeaten,189lbs and failed to mention he was a novice having his first 10 rounder, but par for the course really. Wilder is not a novice,he is undefeated, a champion and he hits like a truck.
Schkpr was a journeyman who lost over half his fights.

Who was Tuckers Rex Layne? What win ever launched Tony beyond USBA level?

After Layne, Marciano knocked out three real contenders rated by ring magazine. Tucker zilch. Nobody in the ring magazine ratings.

Tucker was posting boring points wins over big James Broad Ass, old washed up Jimmy Young ..guys long used as stepping stones by many men who also never made the grade anyway.

Witherspoon took Broad out in a round or so. Even Marvis Frazier beat him. This all points to why Tucker was not at all on the boxing radar when he was selected to take part in a vacant title fight.

Boxing is about levels. Tucker was not on the same level at all. Compare him to Stan Ward or other USBA champs like David Bey. Tucker never went above that. It is true.

So By fight 34 Tucker is at USBA level and is looking to fight his first ring magazine rated opponent?

At fight number 26 Marciano fights #10 rated Roland Lastarza. At fight 26 Tucker outpoints Danny Sutton in a rematch, who has just been knocked out by Joe Bugner and Eddie Gregg.

At fight number 35 Marciano fights Rex Layne who is rated #6 by ring Magazine because he beat Walcott. At fight 35 Tucker fights Douglas who is rated #7 by the ring Magazine because he beat washed up Greg Page.

After this Tucker loses to Tyson and levels off at USBA level. Marciano cleans out the division.

Biggest clue as to who whom is clueless on this site is to see who calls Marciano “skill less”. Marciano was extremely hard to hit cleanly as numerous opponents had attested too. He was great at closing the gap (something Tua should have learned to do). He was a Taylor made fighter for his strengths and weaknesses. Goldman didn’t want Marciano to change his right hand at all so trained him with a style that allowed him to fight to his strengths also adopting his well known lean and parry style. Marciano was excellent at countering jabs and or having them roll off his back. His footwork didn’t look pretty but try and name more then a handful of fighters who closed the gap and trapped better then Marciano and you’d be mistaken. Clueless.

As predicted, no fight blue print just mindless hero babble from professional internet debaters who dont even know how to wrap hands and would be challenged to carry a spit bucket.

Let me guess, same guys that have a Bruce Lee poster and Nunchucks ready to go......

James Douglas? Who would make Layne look like the soft bellied, crude defensively plodder that he was.
Tucker gave Lewis a pretty good fight.Layne would have been cake for Lewis.

    Nope once again.
Marciano then fought Beshore who Mathews had stopped in7 ,Beshore was not ranked.
Marciano fought Buonvino who Lhvy Nick Barone had floored twice and stopped in3rds.Buonvino had been kod in1rd by Baksi in his previous figth and had won just 2 of his last6 fights!
    Buonvino was not ranked.
Marciano fought Reynolds who has won 1 of his last 4 fights and been recently kod in2 rds by Joe Kahut.Reynolds was not ranked.

Spot on, Lewis would spark Layne clean out, total mismatch.

Funny this bum Tucker, according to all the experts here,

when old and washed up, was still turned down by the "hardest puncher that has ever lived" George Foreman.....he instead opted for the most dangerous Kraut since WW2 and go ta gift...

Fact: Tucker was a formidable fighter who was a tough nut to crack for anybody when he had a pulse, not a dominant ATG but nevertheless a naturally talented born fighter and deadly poison for 185 pound stumps come forward brawlers swinging for the fences.

Trivia: Is Tucker beating Tua, prime vs prime ? Yes, he is, Tua could never deal with a basic jab, Tucker would not run out of gas and has a great chin.

What's this now? Douglas "quit from ahead"? What does that mean?

Douglas was rescued by the referee after shipping a really hard right hand and getting bombed out over perhaps a minute.

If you're trying to denigrate both Douglas and Tucker in an attempt to make a Marciano pick more reasonable that will be low even for you.
