Tucker was fighting Douglas for a version of the title in his 35th fight in his next he fought Mike Tyson.
Marciano's 35th fight? Willis Applegate11-14-2 , who had fought twice in the previous 2 years Marciano won a decision.

Imagine how awesome Tucker would have been in the 70s taking on such greats as scrap iron Johnson, bob stallings and Leroy Caldwell?? It would have totally overshadowed Ali vs Frazier and Ali vs Foreman.. Ticket sales would be through the roof !!

I think you mean he was fighting Douglas for a version of “a” title when the pair of them were both fringe guys.

Marcianos 26th fight he fought the ring Magazine #10 rated contender. Tuckers 26th fight was a points decision over Danny Sutton a guy Joe Bugner and Eddie Greg just Knocked out...

How about what he did to Loupe Guerra. Tucker knocked that mofo out in two rounds a whole year before 38 year old comeback Jerry Quarry did it in one round in 1983.

    Tucker’s 47th fight - Big foot Martin

    Marciano’s 47th - Ezzard Charles

I think Tucker had the better 47th win. Everett Martin was awesome.. Ezzard Charles sucked

I was gonna do Tucker vs Bugner. That fight would have been almost as exciting as watching seniors play bridge

Louis attempted to keep him at bay and he was 6”2. Charles and Moore who have great foot work either tried to keep him at bay or
Crowd him in Charles and laynes case. Didn’t work.
I don’t like taking others words for it personally. I think we can agree they were all probably close contested fights. The judges have the best seats.
