Just speaking from experience pal. Most of my colleagues and mates had no interest in Boxing, their only reference point being Benn / Eubank a decade earlier. Froch's fight with Pascal on free to air TV got them all buzzing about him and taking an interest in Boxing generally. I'm not saying it's all down to Carl by any means and I thought I made that clear in my post but the rise in public interest in Boxing in the UK broadly matches his career timeline.
He also fought in front of 80,000 people and halved the size of Nottingham Forest with his training methods.
Barry McGuigan is in the hall fame for heavens sake, so Froch needs to make it No matter what people think of him outside the ring, he was an absolute warrior in it I also have no doubt he would of busted GGG up, had he the stones to move up to 168 rather than fighting bin men at 160 Sorry GGG fans but it's true! Froch would of smashed him!
What are you on about? Froch could it taken the Golovkin fight but was too big, too strong and too retired for it to have happened. Golovkin was desperate for that kind of payday at the time and wanted either him or Chavez Jr. at 168 badly. It was Ward he didn't want to go straight in with.
I agree, that Froch deserves to be voted in, but he wasn't the first time he was on the ballot (last year) - and it's not going to get any easier the coming years. Today the talent pool is far deeper than back in McGuigan's day - which means, that there are now far more names vying for a place on the ballot. For the next voting round, those who will be eligible for the first time include: Wlad Ward Floyd Cotto Toney So Froch will have literally 0 chance of being one of the 3 that gets voted in next year!
Easily HOB worthy. Chin, heart, offense, punch selection, good power, great combos, decent defense, stamina, and Resume!
