Agree. The version of Lara that Canelo fought would easily outbox BJS and IMO was a much bigger threat to Canelo then than BJS is now.

 

Also lara has faced higher competition and has been tested more .

Lara also stays more in shape and is more accurate on his jab , does not gas as fast as bjs

Bjs best performance to date was againsr David Lemieux .

Saunders does well the early part of the fight always but starts looking gassed sometimes as it goes on.

Im not counting Saunders out

Its just the guy isn't that much dependable.

Hes got the style to give canelo problems.

But can he maintain it for 12 rounds ?

Yes the late rounds basically 8 and up.

However bjs gassea alot in the late rounds. The only weapon he has is his jab throw single shots and making canelo miss at times. Its enough to look good for 5-6 close rounds . but canelo counters him to the body and presses the attack therefore winning him the rounds.

Ggg. Floyd. And Lara all are on that level to keep a steady pace against canelo for all 12 maintaining discipline conserving their energy wise.

I don't think bjs is on that level as those guys

 

Lol Canelo is gonna outbox and eventually beat this boy down and the haters gonna be mad when he becomes the new Unifed SMW Titlist. Hopefully the guys at MW grow a set and fight each other and Canelo can get the winner in Sept for Undisputed that would personally be my ideal scenario but we know GGG, Andrade, Charlo making business decision's and ducking comp for a payday.

A lot of this is pretty much how I see it. Saunders is a talented fighter and at his best, he has the style and is good enough at it to give Canelo problems. But Saunders just doesn't have the dedication to his craft that Canelo does and I can't help but feel it's going to show in this fight. Other than the Lemieux fight (which was impressive, albeit against a guy who was stylistically perfect for him), Saunders has never put together a sustained performance against a world level fighter. He tends to fight to the level of his opposition, coast/gas in the second half of fights and doesn't take care of himself between fights.

His opposition over the last couple of years has also been pretty dire. Whilst there's an argument that he will be more up for it than he's ever been for a Canelo fight, I think it's asking a lot bearing in mind the above for him to put in the level of performance that would be needed against someone like Canelo. Especially as he is not taking Canelo out and I would be astonished if he was given a decision.

 

I hope Billy Joe shows up with his best night ever and beats Clenelo
