Seems in this case that the McGuigans had taken a fight with Lewis Ritson at St James's Park, Newcastle next Spring for Eddie Hearn. Unsurprisingly, Taylor didn't want to know. The McGuigans then tried to hold Josh to his contract so he walked. Common sense could and should have prevailed here.

You wouldn't need that much capital to start a promotional business. Even if he did, he would have enough cash to leverage some investment either via debt or equity. He must have earned a good 7 figures in his career.

Excellent answer and possibly very true. Mack certainly earned well considering he was never a World Champion.
Anyone else got any ideas ?

I usually side with the fighter over the trainer too. A trainer can train hundreds of fighters. A fighter can only fight for himself.

A trainer doesn't get punched for a living. He doesnt have to eat right and train hard. He doesn't have to engage in mano a mano combat with another man.

Unless a trainer has a special father-son relationship with their fighter like Pac-Roach, Steward-Hearns, Loma-Loma then I think it's too much to expect loyalty that's strong enough to hold back your own career.

So Ramirez this year, then Josh moves up to WW and fights Ed Kafjdklifjan, then Crawford. His next year and half is already set.
