Anyone know if Johnsons prison memoir is available anywhere? Geoffrey Ward seems to have unearthed it for Unforgivable Blackness. How the heck did he find this, and is it available anywhere to anyones knowledge?
I read a “Jack Johnson memoir” from a library when I was a kid. I think it was edited by Gilbert Odd.
The book I read was called Jack Johnson “in the ring and out” and it was edited by Gilbert Odd and is available on Amazon. It is Jack Johnson’s autobiography. Written in 1927.
No and all the better for it.ps Johnson never wrote Mes Combats it was ghosted ,twice translated and regurgitiated a decade later.
It's okay rather self serving as you would expect from Jack.I'd go with Pollack's 2 volume bio, if your pocket will run to it.
