...relax, Teo. You just beat a hype job in your biggest ever win. In terms of accomplishment, Loma looms larger than you, significantly, trust me. h2h, you'll need to earn your place at the table and then we can see if your size matters.
Bruh you said you will never fight a tall fighter again because you struggled against Nakatani. Safe to say you won't ever dare to be great at the higher weights like your soon to be Ukranian daddy has.
...if someone like Nakatani makes you want to pick up your ball and quit playing, then Lomachenko will make you want to retract your balls and quit your gender.
I'd pay heed to his warning if this is done two years ago. But Loma has fought 4 times in 135 and he has now adapted perfectly to his third class. His last opponent, Campbell, has just about the same height, body size with Lopez. Not sure how big Lopez would rehydrate himself in the event of his fight against Loma, but I don't really think it'd affect much. And remember, it's IBF. There are two times weigh-in there, I'd worry about Lopez than Loma not making the scale. And one more thing, it's not the physical strength that you need the most to beat Loma, it's skill and experience.
Im super fired up for this fight. Lopez being significantly bigger (and explosive hands) is what makes this fight interesting. Far and away the best fight of 2020 thus far. Not even close.
I can't see a mental giant like Loma losing to a kid who walks around referring to himself as a big guy lol
I saw that interview he did with Kellermsn where he said that. You could see in his shoulders and arms that hes just a naturally much bigger guy than Loma even if they're s similar height.
Well he is big. In comparison to Loma anyway. Loma could still make 130 whereas Lopez is going to 140 after this fight. Loma has fought at 126 in his mid 20s
Teo is massive for a lightweight. Same goes for Commey who comes in at about 153-154 only difference being the later is long and rangy whereas Teo's size is his width. He's had to cut out a lot of foods and hire a nutritionist in order to make 135 and if Loma was rehydrating as much Commey is and I suspect Teo likely is but still weighed the same on fight night as he does now he'd probably be fighting down at super-bantamweight. These massive 135 pounders are not a division bigger than Loma, they're at least 2 divisions bigger. Giving away 12-15lbs is a lot for 135 pounders. You think Teo would wield that kind of power if he was coming in at 138-ish on fight night as opposed to 150 +? He's moving up to 140 immediately after the Loma fight and he plans on moving up to 147 in future too. FTR, Career welter Spence weighed 156 against Ocampo and probably weighs about 160 on average.
Lopez's speed, power, and athleticism give him a chance to spring the upset here. The question is, however, does he have the ring acumen and patience to deliver that fight-altering shot. Lopez will have to be like an NFL quarterback moving rapidly through his progressions, because you can bet your ass that Lomachenko will take away a lot of the stuff he's been throwing and landing against inferior/less talented opposition. My guess is that he doesn't (at least not that this stage of his career) and winds up on the wrong side of a 116-112 type decision.
Not true. Loma is definitely small. Lopez is maybe a tad smaller than the average American man. He's 5'8" fairly broad shoulders. People would be shocked at just how little they would weigh if they cut bodyfat and waterweight.
Not a Fimo fan and didn't rank Commey that highly, but the boy can crack. I'm much more impressed with his one shot KO of Mason Menard. Fimo will be the hardest puncher of Lomachenko's career. Lopez is definitely a threat.
Never rated Commey, he walks into right hands, he did the exact same thing against Easter Jr... Loma is a step too far for Teo, I hope Lopez can live with the L and come back stronger, he's so damn talented but this is too much too soon.
