Spike should just go all out in this fight. Should be entertaining I'll be staying up to watch it.

I would love Spike to derail this hype train and he could, but he won't.

Liam Smith vs Spike, both well below world level, not much size in it, make the fight, could be a good one!

Spikes taking a break from boxing. (At 35 that might be a permanent break). But he says golden boy have promised him a title shot at 154!

Just a couple of things....brave cornerman work from Spike’s corner there. He was done in round 8 yet he was telling him that he wasn’t going to pull him out and he had to go out on his shield. He was eating far too many needless shots there, he was zapped and didn’t have the energy to even sting Munguia after round 6. Pointless letting him carry on getting smashed like that.

Second point is that Munguia is a stoppage just waiting to happen. Has size and reach, and a really good jab but neglects to use it and just wants to trade. They obviously recognise this as they keep putting him in with fighters who are not gonna put a crack in that chin of his. It’s obviously exciting but he won’t last long at 160 fighting like that.

Good first 6 rounds though. We’re all being starved of boxing at the moment so it was welcome.

Dead right. Packie Collins obviously thought he could ring the last drop of energy from Spike and that he could pull it out of the fire with one big shot but we all know his stamina is suspect. Besides, when did Spike ever hold back ? Shocking handling of a fighter.
Win or lose, Munguia's career will be a short one if he continues to neglect any notion of defence. Your original fight prediction was spot on.

Cheers mate. I was very disappointed. That’s how lads get seriously hurt. Collins should have protected his fighter from himself and his pride, not sent him back in to be knocked out which was inevitable.

Seen it way too often. It wasn't like it was going to be quick and clean either. Spike was getting a systematic pasting. Probably took 40 or 50 needless punches, mostly to the head.

Largely agree. Munguia will soon outgrow 160. He is improving, he boxed a lot better Vs spike than previously. His chin is granite. That right hand Spike landed at the end of the 3rd would've put most guys heads into the cheap seats and yet munguia didn't budge.
Overall that was better than I expected from Munguia. He might be around for a while yet.

I have to disagree Munguia is bang average ! I’d fancy most of the top ten at 160 to take care of him pretty comfortably

Munguia looked a little better with his new trainer, who you may have heard of. Still very easy to hit though, I worry about him in with that top fighters at 160. Spike gunna Spike.
