Munguia is featherfisted and will get brutally ko'd at 160.

    This dude has ZERO power. I mean it was questionable how good his power was at 154 as he was just stopping some Welterweights (Sadam Ali) or Glass jaws (Allotey) there. The first solid guy took his punches and ate them like Candy (Inoue). The second guy not only took his punches well, he beat the **** out of Munguia and beat him fair and square (Hogan). The same guy was completly dominated by 160 Charlo by the way.

    Munguia needed several rounds to stop a deadly tired Spike O'Sullivan despite hitting him with clean shots and even in Round 11 he landed a shitload of clean punches and Spike was barely going down, more exhausted than hurt in the end.

    I was pretty high on Munguia prior Sadam Ali. But the last performances are worrying. This guy is taking a huge amount of punishment vs. B and C level fighters like Inoue, Hogan or Spike. The A level guys would completly batter this guy. And i'm probably talking about A- level fighters like Derevyanchenko, Williams, Andrade or Charlo. And i'm not even rating guys like Andrade or Charlo that highly. I think they're A- level at best.

    I'm really curious how GBP/ODLH will match him next. Spike is a decent Top 25 MW in my opinion despite the fact he's undersized at 160 i think he showed why he's still a decent fighter in the first 4 or 5 rounds with Munguia. Seriously, right now i would even give Gabe Rosado a decent chance to KO Munguia. The way Munguia is loading up on his punches is just ridiculous. Anyone with size, chin and power will counter him one time and the Mexican will wake up a few seconds later with his back on the canvas. So, how ODLH will match him next? Either he pulls off another Allotey padding up the record more and more like he did at 154 because he knew Munguia is trash OR he will cash out in a big big fight vs. Canelo. It's quite entertaining to follow the route of Munguia imo. I predict he will get another two or three easier tune ups and after Canelo beating up some guys in 2020 i expect the ALL MEXICAN CLASH on Cinco de Mayo in 2021.

    I would not say the guy is feather fisted. His power is just not what it was hyped to be.

    Right now he is trying to live off that power. He is going to have to settle down and learn to box better.

    His D was better in this fight. That's a good sign. Although he didn't keep his head movement on point the entire fight. Spike is a tough dude. He's never been flattened, so can't really critisize Mungia for not sleeping Spike. One more thing, Mungia's jab looked powerful as hell in the later rounds. If Morales can get him to work behind that jabs and improve his head movement, kid will be tough.

    Showed good speed and volume, however i could see Lemieux cocking a left hook out of a barrage and napping Munguia.

    Spike did get flattened in one by Lemieux but David has pretty extreme one punch power so I guess an exception can be made.

    I agree with this. Seems like once he got clipped on the chin by Spike he forgot about head movement for awhile.

    Once he rediscover his jab, which is a good power jab, he did much better.

    He has speed, size, decent power and a good team around him. He has potential.

    If he doesn't let his head get too big and listens to his trainers, he has a lot of potential.

    I'd like to see him settle down, box more and the knockouts will come.

    He's got good leverage on his hooks and a nice jab . Also good speed and volume .

    But as op said not much in the way of power plus a very leaky defence.

    Can't see him winning a proper MW title.

    Oscar is gonna marinate this kid for sure & I doubt he will feed the kid to Canelo,
    Unless there is absolutely no other fight to be made. Maybe throw him in with an aged GGG in 2021/22 to hype the all Mexico fight Munguía vs Canelo “quien es el mas macho!”

    I can't see Oscar throwing the kid in with Canelo soon. He is trying develop the kid into a moneymaker for himself. Why sacrifice the kid?

    Keeping developing the kid. He showed some improvement in this fight. I dont think he is ready for the top tier yet though he may get there.

    yeah I’m thinking this also. That post was a joke mostly.
    I’m thinking Oscar sees Munguía as the next Great Brown hype meal ticket to build up after canelo.
    & yeah he’s no where near ready.
    But does have some decent building blocks with that powerful Jab & the high work rate. Just Needs serious work honing in on that technique for those building blocks has a great teacher in El Terrible.

    Yeah he had success weight bullying eating shots while winging his own... but like OP said that ain’t gonna cut it no mores.

    The only way Oscar sacrifices Munguía is like I said if there is absolutely no other opponent
    & DAZN puts the screws to GBP to $ell more subscriptions.
