Yes, GGG is fading and his best years are behind him but is there any proven active fighter out there that has a better chin than Golovkin? GGG never dropped or knocked down in his career surely makes him #1? Feel free to list the fighters you think that give GGG a run for his $$$ as the best chin in boxing
Pac man's chin is good but having seen him put into essentially a coma by Marquez, I can't put him into that most elite group. GGGs punch resistance is still seemingly great. It's at the end of their career though that high level fighters like that start taking the most punishment. When he starts trying to win fights by having a head than his opponents it is time to call it a day.
Look at pacs resume and the punchers hes faced . Dont just look at the bad Marquez fought him 3 times. Margarito Cotto Thurman Smaller man taking on bigger punchers at higher weights . Ggg has not faced the caliber of punchers porter, pacman, and canelo has faced
There is a lot of great in Pacman's resume. Still...that knockout was one of the worst I'd ever seen. I thought Pacman was dead for a few minutes until he started snoring. The referee could have counted to 1000 and it would not have mattered. Pacman was a great fighter no doubt. He could be hurt though obviously. I have to point out the great jaw thing is sometimes overstated. The best guys have great punch resistance but they also don't get hit flush that much. It's not like they are standing there letting guys tee off on their head. They are doing what they can to avoid, block or take the stream off the shots they take. We may have to agree to disagree on this one.
