Now this I would like to see. I’d fancy Williams too.

I'd definitely fancy Williams. He has a clear power advantage and Munguia's defence is pretty poor.

I feel Williams is in the who needs him club! There is nothing to gain for these fighters to take on such a dangerous fighter like Williams , he will need a strap for someone like Munguia to even contemplate fighting him.

I think Williams would have the power to take him out when he lands. Munguia has a bad defence.

Munguia will duck this fight for his life. I hope Andrade vacates and the WBO order it. Williams 2.0 smashes him

I’m just not sure Williams is the man to chin him. He’s a quality lad but I’ve not seen any evidence of his power/ quality at fringe/world level. I would love to be wrong but he would have the same physical disadvantages as Spike. He isn’t the biggest 160, whereas Munguia looks like a 168-175 on the night. I don’t doubt he’d land but for all his faults, Munguia is big and hurtful with every shot. He grinds his opponents down and we’ve seen with the Liam Smith fights that Williams can be taken down that road.

Sorry for the lack of positivity.

Why won't you accept that Williams wasn't at his best in the Smith fights, and has improved massively, and would Muller Smith if they fought today? :)

That was the very best of Smith, he has plateaued, whereas Williams continues to improve.

I think Williams is at his peak
Every chance of banging out this hype job imo

The spite alone would shock Munguia

I really like Williams but as Twenty said, we're yet to see any evidence of that power at a level required to take a belt. I do think he could be a real problem for Munguia and I think Golden Boy know this and that is why it will probably never happen.

Was thinking the same thing. What's in it for Munguia ? The top Middleweights aren't going to fight Williams without a title at steak. Pity as a fight with Munguia would be a treat for us fans.

Agreed. The last opponent was a step in the right direction and he broke him down impressively but championship level is a different kettle of fish. I’m really enjoying watching Williams, he’s one of my favourite British fighters to watch at the moment but still lots to prove. When he stepped up against Smith he was beaten twice, ultimately.

He stepped up to fringe world level and got beat by Liam Smith. Since then he dropped down a couple of levels and beat some journeymen and Heffron and Mullender. He’s took a step up and beat Achour and Fox but that is still below Liam Smith level whom couldn’t put a dent in Munguia.

I genuinely like him, and he could go on to show that I’m talking rubbish, but up to now there is no evidence that Williams can operate at that level. Look at his best wins for evidence of that.

I agree he hasn't got a breakout win at top level. But he looks good at the moment. He passes the eye test for me. Of course he has yet to prove it with a big win, agreed.

I can't see Williams getting a title shot unless he is mandatory, given how high risk - low reward he is.
