I can imagine him with a needle in his arm before a fight.

I can imagine him running from a smaller boxer, instead of fighting like a man.

This is true. Offensive guys like Tyson or Pacquiao are fun to watch.

Defensive specialists or ""spoilers" are not as fun, at least for most fans. Guys like Mayweather, Hopkins, Whitaker were great fighters but not as much fun to watch for most.

That does not mean they were not effective though.

    And?
Who else was there? Tyson lost to Douglas and then Holyfield.
Yeah, Lewis beat him as well when he was 35 and clearly past his best.

Fact is that Tyson beat a **** ton of top contenders and was the champion for a while.

Floyd a defensive wizard statically getting punched flush less than anyone in the history from 126 to 154lb fighters to a man with albeit a good defense gets punched in the face by some of the most fearsome punches of all time ranging from 219 to 280lbs. You sir, need to delete your account ASAP.

Nobody in Ukraine outside of boxing fans knows who Floyd Mayweather is. NoF*CKINGbody! And all my relatives, including older people, including children know who Mike Tyson is. When I visited Vlad's Sirenko open workout with youth team of Ukrainian hockey club "Sokil", their trainer asked his players to rise the hand if they know one of the hockeys' history most known tough guys (I forgot his name since I'm not a hockey fan), and only 2 guys in a whole team rised their hands. Then he asked to rise hands those who knows Mike Tyson and whole team rised their hands. There weren't single person in the building that didn't know who Mike Tyson is. Yes, 11-12 years old children in Ukraine who don't follow boxing closely know who Mike Tyson is, despite the fact that they were born after Tyson retired from boxing.

To be fair, Lewis was even older than Mike when he beat him.

tyson wasn't afraid to FIGHT. floyd himself said that he didn't want to be hurt. i have more respect for a fighter who is willing to stand toe to toe.

Tyson was a force of nature in his prime and his fame and popularity all across the world back then was insane. It's not even close between them in that regard. He was hugely popular on virtually every continent on the planet and I've even personally witnessed penguins in Antarctica rocking Tyson T-Shirts. And yes, contrary to what many will try and have you believe, prime Mike would beat prime Floyd in an actual boxing match and I've got him doing so via KO too.

Tyson fought men 4 to 8 inches taller than him on average and they often outweighed him. That's a huge hurdle to overcome. Mayweather fought people his own size his whole career.
