pac beat up Margarito who was fight night something like 165lbs.

if Loma is who everyone says he is he could do 140

With TR win or lose along the way, Loma still has Pac-Man as his potential final great payday.

Its not 1984, in the modern/future PED enhanced era boxers can do well into the 50s as long as they stay in the lowest weight possible, at higher weights, they can also dominate as long as they get matched up vs young fighters who also gave up their reach/height advantage by gaining weight early in their career. The main issue will be if their mind is still in boxing

While I understand your logic but going up in multiple weights is not the only criteria of greatness.
Loma is an ATG if he beats Berchelt, Tank, Lopez and Haney..
Which proves he is the Man at 126 130 and 135..
that's more impressive than say pick up an alphabet soup belt at 140..
The same can be said for Canelo that if he beats Charlo or Andrade or Saunders. Any of those 3 is better than beating a corpse Kovalev.

Floyd was 19 and still growing.

Lomachenko is at his peak in terms of being fully grown, having his natural man strength and peaking.

His skill set is still above everyone else's but he won't be getting any better and it won't be easier to overcome natural physical disadvantages either.

Loma can still beat the shorter new guys, but he will have serious problems if he faces an Elite level taller/rangier boxer ala Oscar De La Hoya (130-135) or Floyd Mayweather (130-135), luckily for him all top young boxers are soaked up with PEDs as early as the amateurs, so by the time they turn Pro they are no longer capable of making the 20th century era lean type physique.

His feet have definitely slowed down in terms of angles and range of movement. But I am not so sure about him getting hit more.
He has always been extremely defensive but also applied a ridiculous amount of pressure at the same time.

And now he is fighting bigger men, who are quite good. So it makes sense that the fights are more competitive.

Rigondeaux got his best win at about 32.. Kostya Tszyu was around Lomas age when he was cleaning the likes of Judah's & Mitchells clock.. & JMM was in his early to mid 30s when he was beating the likes of Barrera, Diaz, Pac*, Casamayor, Salido etc so he's far from done yet.. I don't think 31 is what it was 20 or 30 years ago.. I think he's got a good 2/3 years left at the top.. but he's a reflex fighter & he will slow, it just depends how he can adapt.. he's on the tipping point now though, it's only natural..

Everyone doesn't get some 'say' in what weight Loma can realistically do. That's just fan talk.

Still with the Berchelt boogieman nonsense?

Berchelt hasn't beaten anyone anywhere near as fast and technically gifted as Lomachenko. Lomachenko will turn, frustrate, and outbox Berchelt to a competitive but very clear decision. In fact, it wouldn't shock me if Loma stopped that kid late.

I am dubious that the Tank and Haney fights ever happen, unfortunately. I do, however, expect Loma to fight--and beat-- Lopez and Berchelt in the next 12-14 months. Berchelt is generally considered the top dog at 130lbs, and I think a case can be made that Lopez represents his biggest near term threat at 135lbs. Wins over both will absolutely cement his legacy.

On the same token, Lomachenko has not beat a strong, aggressive pressure fighter like Berchelt.... in fact, he actually lost to one.

*In this second pro fight, to a fighter that missed weight and weighed considerably more than Loma on fight night, and used his "veteran tactics" all night....and it was still a close fight.

Loma does not fight a career limiting toe to toe style, boxing and not receiving a lot of punishment relative to others. His legs are vital to his style and they will go with age. How fast they go depends somewhat on how well he takes care of his body. His ring IQ, experience, stamina and power should not dissolve quickly. His reflexes are important but not as much as someone like RJJ who used pure athleticism.

It's hard to say but if he finds the 135 fighters to be too big he might get more longevity fighting men his own size at 130 and 126.
