Tyson Fury walks around asking strangers if they know Deontay Wilder. Literally only one person said yes. And also out of all the people he asked, only 1 recognized Tyson Fury. It seems literally no one cared about Tyson Fury?? This content is protected
They havent earned the respect of people for them to take notice Wilder fights bums low risk Fury fights bums and is boring to watch the only real fans they have exist on this forum because no one attends their fights
They dont transcend the sport of boxing, but very few fighters are able to ever achieve such a status. Mike Tyson, Floyd Mayweather and Manny pacquiao transcended the sport. How many others have in the past 35 years or so?
They are poorly-promoted...that is the job of the promoters, not the boxers No real promoters since Don King & Bob Arum...The boxing world is wide-open for the any real Alpha male to come take over A Real boxing Promoter should come break balls, kick doors & force fights...Not the weak passive-aggressive safety first promoters...Definitely not a lame faceless corporation, boxing respects the presence of a strongman
The simple fact that weak-handed promoters can't handle, is that a takes a very unique man to be a boxing promoter Roy Jones, Ali 2.0, Oscar, Mayweather & any of the big names in the last half century you know in boxing....became famous because of Don King-Bob Arum hands on promotional style
The bomb squad have wiped people's memories, because Deontay's KO's are so brutal, people get too scared to watch his fights.
WILDER > Wilder is a complete moron, that should be obvious. Even moronic sports fans fail to respond to the completely nonsensical type of moronic talk Wilder spouts. Tyson got famous while domesticated under Cus, he only later revealed just how ridiculously stupid he was. Wilder also fought weak competition for a long time, he's almost mid 30s ... FURY > Fury was not promoted by the big money powers in the UK, he was with a small outfit and had small TV coverage, all the way up to the Wlad fight. After his outspoken comments, he was attacked by the media, an attempt to destroy whatever 'brand' he'd managed to create basically on his own. Fury then went AWOL for a few years. Fury is a top fighter and talks/jokes/sings better than anyone else in boxing, he should have been very easy to promote ... As for his 'boring style', this doesn't come into the equation because although he fought defensive fights against big punchers Wlad/Wilder and the Chisora fight a few fights out of the Wlad shot, before that he was in plenty of exciting fights. It's obvious he wasn't backed like certain other fighters.
Fury has more likeable appeal than anybody in boxing Deontay Wilder is not looking to make friends, he breaks dreams with One Punch. The story starts in a shake of debauchery, then a run into his mothers egg, followed by 9 months or so of pregnancy, then the burden of raising this boy to become the man, he rises to be the alpha male of his peers....he grows in strength, status & power...until he reaches his peak, fulfilling his evolutionary purpose; a KO victim on Deontay Wilder record, the whole story ends with one Punch. Deontay Wilder has no apologies or regrets, just offensive gestures... If Wilder fought in 1985, he would have been 100-0-0-0 (KO 100), he came in the #MeToo moment era.... So its not his fault he is not likable, he takes out his growing frustration on his brave opponents who choose to look right into the Abyss & hope by fighting Wilder enough times, they can become monsters themselves
Wilder is not likeable because he does not know how to sell himself, outside of his knockouts, what else is interesting about him? What are his opinions on global, social issues or lighter topics in life? Does he make sense? Does he think the bum squad nonsense is going to flock people to the stradiums and PPV streams? Has he attempted to do charity work, connect with corporate sponsors, connect with casual fans in meet and greets? The contrast is clear, whenever Fury talks for 10-15 minutes, I listen to every minute, when Wilder talks for even one minute, I can't tolerate it and press the mute button. Wilder has not only been poorly promoted but also poorly groomed as well
Its called Tyranny, because the Emperor has his way against the will of the weak masses...No liking required
There are too many champions in too many organizations in too many weight classes nowadays. The whole world champion thing is seriously diluted. It's so confusing and jumbled for the average person that they've lost interest. Deontay has a chance to break though if he knocks out Furry. His lack of speaking ability doesn't help him though. I don't think I've heard him speak a full sentence using polysyllabic words.
