Check his reaction to KZ's callout. Wants nothing to do with him. This is clearly the fight to make at 145. Zombie has blown through his last two fights and has a cult following/high profile. Zabit and Rodriguez have been unimpressive lately and Max probably won't be ready for a while. No other fight makes sense.
I feel the same way. Zombie is always sensational television. Although this isn't a superfight, the UFC would have an easy time splicing together KZ highlights to make the fans drool. I can't say I blame Volkanovski though. He'd rather face a guy he already beat for better money, or a fight with pre-prime, flawed guys like Zabit and Yair, which is smart.
Nothings happening with any of them soon, Alex surgery for broken hand, Zombie needs eye surgery. So it's just media bull**** about guys that aren't even cleared to train let alone fight.
What did Volkanovski actually say ? When he won the belt he stated that he wants to be a proper champ defending against the best contenders. Fighting Holloway straight away after a fight that was NOT competitive is a joke imo. Holloway should be forced to win a top 5 fight before a shot at the title again and Zabit/Yair can fight each other first before they get a shot at the belt. That leaves Korean Zombie as the obvious contender for his first defence. Make the fight or lose fans.

Dana White said yesterday again the Holloway fight is next for Volkanovski and hopefully will be in Australia. Also following on from Romero getting title fight coming off 2 losses, Dana also confirmed that Cejudo will be defending title against Aldo next despite Aldo losing his last fight.
