If Tyson Fury beats Deontay Wilder and never fights again afterwards where do you rate him all-time?

So what about if Wilder knocks him out. Where does that place him?

We already know Deontay Wilder is the most Powerful Puncher to ever walk Earth...
    So
If Deontay Wilder eliminates the only true threat, he will be in a better place to rule the boxing world unchallenged for a few decades, Joshua will be in a Beta-Male position & start surrendering his belts, collecting the last paychecks, Wilder will eventually corner him & force him to hand his last belt by KO or retiring.

Dropping a right hand a few times a year, he can keep it up well into the 2040s

Similar to Gene Tunney's career, just a step below.
wiki states "Tunney was a thinking fighter who preferred to make a boxing match into a game of chess"

After beating Demp he had one fight & quit. Difference being is that Tunney fought heavy hitters on his way to the title. Both Tunney & Fury would be 2 thinking fighters that never ruled as a champ is where I make the comparison.

Fury beat some solid gatekeepers. But to enshrine him in anyway, would be based on Klitschko, Wilder & who else? Worse is if Wilder goes on to lose more fights then that dilutes any possibility of him being ranked as a ATG HW, let alone P4P status if he retires after an imaginable win.

If Fury retires post Wilder victory, then his career is based on how well Wilder performs thereafter.

The more Wilder wins the better Fury's career looks.

If Wilder starts losing decisions or worse getting starched? I'd have to apologize at Tunney's tombstone for ever making the comparison with a guy whose only wins came off a 19 year veteran named Kltischko who lost his next fight to a Joshua --who in turn got beaten up by a human pinata & forced to jab-clinch & move from a in immovable blob in their rematch.

And his other win came against a guy whose sole plan was one right hand known to telegraph his punches by emulating a windmill. That would put him on par with champs like Bruce Seldon, Frank Bruno, Trevor Berbick. In other words a guy who once held a title for a day.

I would rank him as a coward for avoiding a third fight with Wilder.

Fury can adopt a Swedish citizenship and he won't even be a Swedish All Time. Or he might surpass Ingemar Johansson

He has his flaws and is a good boxer but to compare him to Maradona Best and O’Sullivan is hyperbole to the extreme.

These are geniuses who changed their game. To put Fury on a par with those is laughable.

Why? He has been constantly described as the most talented boxer of his generation not only by forum posters but by fellow pros and boxing journalists worldwide.

Do you honestly think he is that good. Better than Pacquiao, Mayweather?

Would you watch him over Leonard, Duran, Hagler or Hearns?

The people you have likened him to transcend their sports. They are icons.

I struggle to put Fury in that bracket.
