Of course. It was the highest grossing match in boxing history at the time, and was a tremendously successful match. It didn't disapoint like Maywaether Pacquiao did. Ask yourself : which match was better and more entertaining : Mayweather Canelo or Mayweather Pacquiao? The answer is obvious, Mayweather Pacquiaio turned out to be a dud. Mayweather Canelo on the other hand lived up to the hype. Mayweather Canelo was closer than Maywaether Pacquiao was also despite Canelo being at a considerable disadvantage with the catchweight. (yet another reason why there should have been a rematch) Yet we keep hearing rumors about a Mayweather Pacquiao rematch despite their first match sucking royally. It's obvious why Mayweather never gave Canelo a rematch, which is the same reason why he wouldn't fight Canelo at 154. Floyd was scared of fighting Canelo. The only way he would fight him was by weight draining him. And if you watch the fight and look at the amount of times Floyd was pulling back hard and flinching, it only furthers the point of how scared Floyd was of Canelo. A lot of that stemmed also from Floyd's issues with De La Hoya, Canelo's promoter. And Floyd wanting to stack the deck against Canelo to ensure that Floyd would beat the guy that DLH was promoting.

I'm not doubting that this may have happened but I've never seen any proof of that. Oscar may have said it though, Oscar says a lot of stupid stuff, like when he said he wanted to make GGG wait for a 3rd fight in an interview. Oscar's an idiot honestly but you can't put what Oscar does or says on Canelo as many people try to do.

I know a lot of people did, but it was an unfair expectation in my opinion. Canelo was being held to a different standard. He knew he was going into the fight with obligations to fight GGG? But yet Cotto as Champ never had to abide by those same obligations to fight GGG? Don't you see the problem with that?

Any attempt to dictate to GGG as far as a catchweight was Oscar's doing. But I also know that Oscar said on several occasions that the fight with GGG would be at the Full 160. If you have any proof that Oscar tried to dictate a catchweight to GGG I'd like to see it. I'm not claiming he didn't, but I just personally never saw any proof that he did that. All I've seen is people claiming that he did that. (again I wouldn't be shocked if he did try to get GGG down to a catchweight, particularly after Canelo beat Cotto, I'm just saying that I never personally saw any proof of that)

Yeah and not only did he fight Oscar at 154, but just the year before he fought Canelo he won that 154-lb title by fighting Cotto at 154 and in the face-off with Cotto made it clear that he wanted Cotto to be at his best, as he criticized Pacquiao for draining Cotto and said he still considered Cotto an undefeated fighter because of it. Then a year later he turns around and does exactly what he criticized Pac for doing to Cotto to Canelo. That's when I lost all respect for Mayweather.

you believe anything that suits your agenda you can support anyone you wish. I'll support the fighters I can admire. The guys that abide by the rules & do not need corruption to succeed. May/Pac was a disgrace & a real black eye for boxing. Pac was never given a chance of winning he was blatantly sabotaged while Floyd blatantly cheated with the blessing of the State Commission. "Mr Mayweather did nothing wrong so we will not be investigating" doesnt absolve him one bit.
Just let the cowardly scum fade off into the sunset till in a few years time you;ll see him back in the gutter begging forchange

No gift he gave 95% of the fighters he fought boxing lessons there's a reason why he's rated highly and won that award. You're a irrational hater who doesnt know real talent when you see it.

If he was manufactured then what does that say about pac and the rest of them since they couldn't beat him? I guess they all must be trash then by your logic.
