His KO winning percentage is 97.6%. His overall percentage is 95%. So both are right. Don’t let it get you down too much.

 but the others aren’t KO winning percentages...plus that would be 98%. Sorry, I’m just pedantic (blame my job)

Fury: "I was the only white guy at the Kronk gym".
Also Fury: "There was great fighters at the kronk such as Andy Lee, Dmitry Salita.."

    Fury: "I'll fight till I'm 50"
Also Fury: I have 3 fights left"

I'm sad when it comes to watching boxing interviews. I watch wayyy too many. But with this fight, I just can't. This was the only video I've watched in this Wilder/Fury build up & it reminded me why. You can't take anything Fury says with any substance. Just a walking liar. His face was full of panic when McGregor's name was brought up but of course Umar didn't pull him up on his lie. Then there is Wilder, who is the cringiest speaker I have ever seen in the history of the earth.

    Still a great, must-see fight.

You're right. But it's boxing, aka, the bull**** business. It's been that way for many decades. From Ali to Don King to Bob Arum, Floyd Mayweather, Fury and Eddie Hearn. Bull**** is the name of the game and it's nothing new.

Fury is on the verge of another break down. His thought pattern is clearly erratic. He admits he doesn't take medication for it. He probably should.

He’s probably lying about that as well.

Fury’s lies are different though. Boxers will always talk themselves up and boast and say they’re going to do this and that, as will their promoters.

Fury does this as well of course, but he also just lies about anything which pops into his mind. ‘I’m the only white guy in Kronk.’ Alright mate. ‘Conor McGregor said.’ He’s never even met you.

This isn’t aimed at you, bud.

This is the thing, Fury is a compulsive liar, fantasist, extrovert but prone to self destructive behaviour through booze, reckless eating, drugs, talks of suicide etc. What I would say is, push your personal feelings on Fury to one side and imagine someone in your personal life behaving as erratic as him. Making the same life choices despite having big success in work he just goes off the rails, puts 10 stone on through partying, boozing and coke, posts videos on social media looking very mentally fragile, confessing that he’s bipolar and all that. Not only that, you hear from other people, his peers, all saying what a bad place that person is in.

To the people who just don’t buy this mental health thing and that he’s making it all up....if he was making it up, do you not think the lengths (and behaviours) he goes to, to portray this is an example of someone who is seriously unhinged?

I’m not sure I’m making my point articulately enough here but, look at evidence...if you think he’s telling the truth, then he’s mentally ill. However, if you’re in the group where you think he’s lying about it all, if you was right, then he’s a pathological liar. That’s a personality disorder linked to mental illness.

Either way, he suffers from poor mental health. You might not find it palatable the constant attention he brings to it...but he is famous, talks articulately about it and ultimately raises the awareness of mental health. So a good thing comes from this.

That's a fair post, but a few things.

Personally I think a lot of it is made up, largely on the basis that I cannot get away from the idea that a guy who lies about loads of things wouldn't lie to mitigate a drug ban. If he's lying about giving his purse away or meeting Conor McGregor, he's doing that to make himself look better. They're childish lies; a bit like telling your mates at school that your dad drives a Ferrari rather than a Focus, but they're still lies.

Plus, I think a lot of what is written about mental health in general when it comes to Fury is written from a position of ignorance. We all know that mental health can affect anyone, at any time, rich or poor, famous or otherwise. So it's absolutely not a case that I'm suggesting Fury is somehow immune from it because of his status. Far from it. But, look at his time off. Is that indicative of mental illness? Or is it a rich, young, successful man who knows he's got plenty of time off work?

If I was looking at Fury as a mental health ambassador or role model or however you want to describe him, the one thing I'd want to hear would be how people can get better. And that's the weird thing with Fury. There never seems to be much mention of this. He won a world title, failed a drug test, then had a few years out partying and eating and boozing, (which if I was given two years off and had millions, I'd do as well), before he just got better and returned to the sport. Ricky Hatton has spoken about depression, and how he went to the Priory (didn't rate it), Tony Adams' Sporting Chance clinic (did rate it), and how he now regularly has catch ups with a psychiatrist. You can say that Fury never talks about this sort of thing because he's a private guy, but I just find it odd that all of the times he gets really private seem to be the moments that would confirm some of the things he says.

You're right that being a pathological liar is a mental condition. I'd probably just suggest that my mate who was a serial liar wouldn't seem as serious as a guy who was genuinely struggling to carry on living.
