He lands more punches than Wlad did and doesn`t clinch as much.

I don't understand what's boring about Usyk. His boxing is masterful, he throws a lot, doesn't clinch and sits on his shots. The only fight he's had you'd describe as running is Gassiev, and even then the level of skill he showed in shutting down a monsters offence was beautiful.

He's not even a true defensive wizard, he gets hit a decent amount. His fight with Briedis is more exciting than any Fury's had.

I never thought I'd see anyone say Usyk isn't exciting. He is one of the most fun boxers to watch right now, he is a masterful tactician who will also get involved in a fire fight, has some power but chooses his moments and has epic defense. He's got an awesome sense of humour and is a little bit crazy, but a straight shooter.

Honestly, more or less like what Tyson Fury seems like he wants to be or wants people to see him as. I wouldn't rule out the possibility that Fury has decided (ex)cruiserweights are his kryptonite

True. Fury has minimal interest in the little guys, and by little really anyone who isn’t a heavy.

also his training was pretty basic until he turned pro, and even then he didn’t really take it seriously until mcdermott 2. He went to Ibiza two weeks before McDermott 1. And even then he was hit an miss

huh? What ex-cruiser? USS? Fury was fighting away, in ill fitting shorts and clowning. When he turned the screw Cunningham got battered.

fury’s toughest fights haven’t been ex cruisers. Chisora 1, wallin, wilder....

Fury is better when he fights than when he talks.

I was just saying in general, from comments he has made in the past - though considering Cunningham was not exactly setting the world on fire Fury had to 100% work considering his level. Really we don't know, but it would stand to reason that when Fury's biggest strength is his movement that he may not be so keen to fight someone who can foot it with him in that regard, but without the double edged sword of having to shift 6ft 9 of chunky gypsy for 12 rounds

fury would fight cruiserweights coming up to heavy all the time if the money was right aka David Haye, who was an actual ex cruiser weight and heavy champ.

it is about money and Usyk doesn’t bring it unfortunately

Sounds like Fury is scared. He looked very bad against a southpaw recently and I think Usyk’s style is all wrong for Fury. He’s probably not afraid of getting beat up, just afraid of losing. It would be an interesting fight but Usyk would be giving up so much height and reach, it would be like a freak show. I would watch this one if it happened.

Agreed with all of this, however to be fair - Usyk is similar or taller than plenty of Fury's prior opponents. While he is clearly not a giant, he is probably bigger than a lot of people realise. He is nearly 2 inches taller than Chisora and 4" more reach - ie, the same reach as Otto Wallin while being 2 inches shorter.

I like Usyk but it's pretty ironic Usyk fans calling Fury fans delusional here.
Why would a guy who's fought Wlad, Wilder, signed to fight Haye ... be scared of Usyk? Do people really believe this?
Usyk does not have the power equaliser to make Fury fear him. Fury won't fear a boxing match with someone he has massive physical advantages against.
The idea Wallin gave Fury so much trouble boxing wise is laughable. Wallin struck gold with a rare cut and was still out boxed easily. He even nailed Fury flush on the jaw in the last round when Fury couldn't see and wasn't able to drop him. Wallin is probably quite a bit more powerful than Usyk being significantly larger.

Tyson Fury is not a likable person.

Although I don't like Wilder much either, Fury's stupid mouth makes me want to see Wilder knock Fury out - to shut his big mouth and give him some much-needed humility.

I think he's a better talker than he is a fighter.

Usyk has a chance of being competitive at hw, it's not a tough bracket. And he's a better than average cw so it levels out. It all depends on how well he can handle the power at hw.
I see usyk in the same predicament as Mikey Garcia. They can both beat a lot of the guys in their new division, but they couldn't beat someone really, really good. But there's nobody really, really good at hw.

The toughest opponent that Wallin has hurt with a punch is Irineu Costa Jr, currently ranked outside of the top 300. Usyk has a solid KO ratio on a record of fighting very top heavy and durable cruisers, including Tony Bellew who just came off being a top 10 ranked heavy himself.

Fury is over half a foot taller than Chisora, and weighs half a tonne more than Deontay Wilder - saying that Fury is a more damaging puncher than either of those two because of his size would be a massively unpopular opinion.

Big Fury fan here. There is some truth to what Fury was saying, but If Usyk wins a belt and Fury won't fight him, that's an enormous ducking of the highest order. That's Bowe ducking Lewis levels of ducking to so openly be a ducker in the world duck duck goose finals. If that happens, he might as well change his name to Daffy.
