Quigg will be coming off of a year and a half layoff, King Kong Carroll butchers him. And does he really have that much firepower? He couldn't even drop glass jawed Valdez.
Quigg from a few years back demolishes Carroll and I was never a big Quigg fan. I like Carroll though. This could be a very good fight indeed.
It feels like Quigg's inactivity has made him an unknown quantity of sorts. When was the last time he fought? His last serious fight was Valdez and that was ages ago. If the lay off is all because of injuries then just how injury-ravaged is he? Has be became delicate? That's why I'm thinking Carroll might have a chance. If it's vintage Scott Quigg, he gives Carroll a proper beating. I do like the fight but agree it's an odd headliner, but saying that, I said myself I like the fight so not really complaining about that either.
Good fight, both got great chins and massive engines. In hindsight Quigg shouldn’t of left Gallagher IMO
He didn't demolish him, it went the full 12 bad tactics and a broken jaw doesn't help Quigg showed in that fight he belonged in the same ring with Frampton imo
I think he will too, Carroll is fresher, younger and hungrier, he's done far better than many expected and I think he'll edge this.
Real good fight this. Carroll has the momentum and is the fresher of the two, I thought he put in a good effort against Farmer and the scorecards were far too wide. Quigg out of the two of them is clearly the bigger banger but he's been inactive. I don't really know where he's at to be honest.
Quigg is 31, had 39 fights, although he hasn't fought in well over a year now, and had his face broken. Carroll is 27, had half the fights, never been bashed up and has fought 4 months ago and less than a year ago he pushed arguably the best in the division, at this point in time, very close, I favour Carroll heavily but you just never know in this game. Both are as hard as they come.
Sat beside Jono Carroll on the plane on the way home from Fury vs Wlad, funny guy will be a fun fight for sure
