Let’s say Floyd fought Clottey and Margarito instead that year with the exact same conditions, how do those fights go in your opinion.

He outboxes Margarito easily, and outpoints a reluctant to throw Clottey if you are talking same conditions.

Margarito was always gonna be an easy fight for Floyd, because Floyd was fit to box for 12 rounds. He wouldn't gas like Cotto. Also, Margarito was fairly crude, plodding, and slow. It's hilarious hearing people claim he would have given Floyd problems. Welterweight Castillo, he wasn't. Far slower, and far less skilled.

Is this a real question neither Clottey or Margarito are elite fighters so the obvious answer would be a Floyd UD don't know how this is even something ou have to think about.

Easy peasey for the Pretty Boy.

Apart from Manny who fought with an injury, I'm struggling to think of an opponent in the past decade capable of applying any real pressure to Floyd.

Will people ever learn when Mayweather fights a pressure fighter? Floyd likely wins, but he can’t move for a full 12, and he doesn’t like to throw over 500 punches. Margarito was not what he was, but he still had the will, heavy hands and was absolutely huge at 5’11 and 165lbs+. His style would still give him momentary success when Floyd decides to sit on the ropes. He’d be the biggest opponent in Floyd’s career and he would be completely unfazed by Mayweather power while having the power to hurt Floyd to create moments of panic for fans.

Clottey is another fairly big guy and with good speed. Pacquiao kept him at bay with lots of fakes and feinting, attacks and countering, but also importantly he broke him down to the body. Clottey took a beating to the body in that fight. I’d see Mayweather employing similar punch fakes as Pacquiao did, Floyd did it vs Cotto later on when Cotto was trying to walk him down behind the high guard. Lots of touch touch keep the hands at home, then real punch(s) behind it. How he accumulated a higher number than usual in his punch-stats vs Cotto. Floyd’s got too much heart to ever lose to Clottey. But it’d be interesting because Clottey was a sharpshooter.

But these guys are better than Guerrero, Ortiz, Berto and more on the lvl of Maidana. Don’t know why people expect easy.

PBF wouldn't lose a round to Margo. He's a slow starter has no jab slow of hand and foot and has no defense, he's an uneducated pressure fighter. He couldn't be more tailor made for PBF. All he does it comes forward looking to eat shots in order to wear guys with his size and workrate. But too bad for him PBF wouldn't be there to be hit so his workrate would drop in half PBF would be in and out of range beating him to the punch and countering him badly all night long a gross mismatch. The only reason why this guy is ever talked about is because PBF didn't fight him had he done so he would be just another guy that PBF wouldn't get any credit for schooling.

Clottey would have a better chance and was actually a decent counter puncher when he tried but he's mentally weak and falls apart when faced with adversity. He gave Cotto some problems but Cotto isn't PBF.

PBF shuts out Margo and Clottey wins 2 rounds at most.

Even that might not be enough for him. He might never land the concrete encased right hand.

Floyd didn't use his magic needle with Maidana. Ironically he never had to rehydrate in his other 49 fights. All this against an injured fighter he had the size advantage over. He was scared and is dad reminded him how scared he was.

Margo wouldve been dangerous for FlIVd only in the fact that he wouldve walked through FlIVds shots and with his brittle hands it would be a possibility of him injuring a hand making him one handed and having Margo facing a one handed fighter in the ladder half of the fight. That is why I believe FlIVd avoided that fight. Sure he likely wins but too risky. And before you bring up FlIVd handling a bigger stronger Canelo let me say that Canelo never bullied FlIVd in that fight and simply tried to box with a boxer.

Maidana, Maidana, Maidana. Every time people want to act like Floyd would school everybody I love to bring up Maidana. EVERY Floyd fan on this board, had that fight never happened, would have said that Floyd would have absolutely schooled Maidana 12-0. "Remember what Devon Alexander did to him", they would all say too. Frankly, Maidana fits the mold of someone tailor made for Floyd, but guess what, it didn't go like that. You can say Floyd wasn't at his best, but it doesn't matter, he was still an elite fighter, and light years ahead of Devon Alexander.

Yeah, yeah, Maidana might have made some improvements, but he was still schooled terribly vs Devon, you don't just learn how to box much better that late in your career. He improved a bit with Garcia at most, that's it.

Concreto could have given Floyd hell. And why not someone else too? This is why you have to make the fights. Saying Floyd would school anyone in a fantasy fight is meaningless. Maidana is the PERFECT example.

Clottey reluctant to throw against Floyd's power? Lol, no. He's not Manny. Clottey could take Floyd's punches and smile.
