We can all thank Fujimoto for that. He held the WBO Asia Pacific Heavy Title for years and paid his way up the ranks. Good times.

The WBO might be strict with it´s mandatories, but they will easily let someone just sit their way up the rankings. Dubois can step down his opposition and he will end up the mandatory.
Just the way Andy Ruiz did. Held a minor WBO belt and eventually made it to the top.

This! This is exactly what is going on.

And Isufi himself held a minor WBO trinket for a while.
 The WBO´s 168lbs rankings are appalling.

Dubois was also the WBC youth champion and picked up the vacant WBC silver against Fujimoto. I think he should bide his time and wait for the belts to break up, Usyk would be all wrong for him at this stage. He should be targeting Rivas, Takam, Martin, Washington level guys this year and then take a shot at a Hunter, Parker, Kownacki level fighter the next.

Stunning that someone who's so green he's still on the vine is ranked 3rd. This proves one thing, the WBO can't be shamed by idiotic ratings.

I think all the names you have mentioned are on his radar. I've also heard that Whyte is in his sights too.

Whether or not he can fight those guys under Frank Warren is the better question as that fish eyed old ******* will having him fighting unknowns from the commonwealth for as long as he can get away with.

He'll be long gone before that happens mate. He's too confident and ambitious to follow a tomato can diet.

Beat one fringe prospect so obviously deserves #3 wbo ranking.

The same can be said with Hearn offering the Bakole vs Dubois fight.

What's the point of being 3rd at WBO when he isnt ready to face the guy with the belt, or even fight for in an eliminator for a mandatory spot.

He isn't ready for Parker and Usyk. He probably beats Chisora but let's see him do that. He beats Kownacki too probably but then he has to step up against the top 3 next so that might not happen this year.

Frank has previously talked up the ebu, wonder if beating Joyce puts him in line for a tilt a kabayel who has conveniently signed with top rank, Franks best buddies cross the pond.

    Beat Joyce.

Beat kabayel, get exposure via top rank/ESPN
    He
Then manoevred into title shot after some easy work fights to, ahem, raise his profile etc

That keeps the narrative of him getting 'all the belts' English, British, commonwealth, etc
