Nope, he ran for his life and every time he got touched he looked hurt, Imagine what Wilder would do to him?
AJ will learn why Fury only threw a flimsy, measly 330+ punches; Wilder isn't a bad boxer. It's only when he is in attack mode that he goes bonkers on the windmill tip. Since Wilder is so poor in skills, lacking defensively how do we explain Fury's connect rate just over 26%? Landing under 100 punches? Those aren't number reflective of how fearful Fury is, rather he can't find that opening as easy as he thought. When I label a boxer as amateurish in their abilities...usually if not almost always his competitor has either a high punch-rate, connect rate or both to validate the argument.
The speed difference between the bodybuilder and the devastating bronze bomber is evident. Not saying Joshua is slow, he isn't. But Deontay moves like a agent in that film the matrix. Joshua 's like the equivalent of Morpheus. And he got his ass kicked in the first film. Excellent acting by Hugo Weaving i must say.
hypothetically. take away wilders right and Joshua left hands. who wins? i say joshua. putting them left and right back in. Joshua wins again unless wilder lands a flush right then we see how tough AJ actually is
Both flawed fighters but AJ has the better smarts in the ring so would go for him. I think his loss to Ruiz will make him a better all round fighter, although once he gets whacked by Wilder he could revert back to type. Fury beats AJ by a country mile, close call with Wilder but will go with Fury in the rematch.
Well yes it does matter how good you are actually, because Wilder isn't impossible to knock out. If Joshua knocked him out in round one he wouldn't have to worry about the other eleven rounds.
Joshua has a great right hand in his own right. He doesn't leap in with it the way Wilder does, but that's because he's far better schooled and a smarter, more careful operator. He's more than capable of knocking almost anyone out with it if he lands flush, and he's far more likely to land flush early on than Wilder.
No there was a point when Ruiz started catching AJ and he panicked at the end of one round he outstrecthed his arms as if to give up, but came out well in the following round, AJ was forced to clinch a number of times and each time Ruiz caugt him coming out of the clinch, the ref had to warn AJ not to clinch.
Pretty close to what I've said for a long time. But I think Fury loses to Ruiz, Wilder loses to aj. And I think Fury gets bombed out early in the rematch.
