Why won't Deontay Wilder fight outside the USA?

Quite possible $US - Euro/Pound exchange rates could be a factor too. The past 3 years have seen an especially strong $US against those two. Could be a consideration why Hearn wants to gain a foothold in the US too.

 

Give it a f#%king rest. DW has absolutely ZERO reason to fight outside of the states unless its an AJ fight and thats only because AJ embarrassed himself in the states and tucked tail and ran all the way to Saudi Arabia just to not fight In the states again lol!

 

I agree with those who pointed out he signed to fight Povetkin, plus as the HW champ its not his place to go...want the belt, come get it.

Hes the WBC champion, dude can fight where he wants.

Too much is made of fighting away from home. If you're champ and want the fight in your back garden so you can roll out of the ring into bed then so be it, you've earned that right.

 

Well that's the thing with Wilder isn't it? People don't feel like he's earned much. They feel he's been protected and coddled as much as possible since turning pro/becoming champion.

 

If he wants to become unified champion he then surely has to travel to UK to fight Joshua!! Unless Joshua decides otherwise (being the A side) problem is Wilder won't wanna admit that is the case, or Travel, or Fight Joshua imo... so he'll probably never fight outside US now. At least he's moved out of only fighting in school gyms in Alabama tho.

 

How is Joshua the A side??? He's had his ass KO"d Wilder is still unbeaten

 

He brings in more money? That is all that matters in a-side b-side discussions. It's not just in boxing, the money you make is relative to the money you bring in. Or you think the guy bringing in far less money should dictate and get more money?

 

It's not like he relies on judges to win.

 

I agree. He may be the "A side" in Britain but not in the USA. His one and only foray into the US was a disaster.

Both guys should check their ego at the door and agree to a 50-50 split. More than enough money to go around.

 

He relied on a couple of dodgy judges to receive the draw in the Fury fight.

And home refs have assisted him many times, such as giving him extra time to recover in the first Luis Ortiz fight, and by not acknowledging a legit knockdown by Dustin Nichols.

 

He received the draw cause Fury got the extra time to recover, same way you're slagging Wilder for getting.

 

AJ fight in the New york still out sold at the gate and PPV than Wilders fight one month apart.

Internationally AJ is the bigger star. Wilder gets 200k buys whilst AJ gets over million.

Well Hearn stated that he will offer the winner of Fury vs Wilder 50/50. So no Wilder will have no excuses after turning down the previous offers of $10m,$15m, 30% split, 40%split and the $120m 3 fight deal.

 

AJ probably has PTSD about his US visit. I doubt he will want to come back soon.

We will see what happens. If Hearn is serious about the 50-50 thing that should go a long way torward helping to make the fight.
