I am in no way suggesting anything about Smith here.

But you see this regularly, "X boxer removed from the WBC ranking after failing to sign up for the clean boxing program".

Is their a legitimate reason why you wouldn't sign up? Or is it administrative oversights?

Or do boxers use this as a safer window to juice?

Couldn't care less anymore. Drugs in boxing is rife and now even if you get caught with small amounts it doesn't matter.
These drug organisations are just in it to make money like the rest.

That's one easy way of getting him out of the equation so they can make the fights they want with the belt rather than ones they're obliged to.

I wonder if fighters have to pay? In which case unless you’re making millions then there’s an affordability issue.

Juicing in boxing is rife... however with the VADA sign ups there is a fair amount of admin involved. My guess is smith has just not filed the paperwork and didn’t realise it’s out of date

It’s not just that it’s your movements need to be tracked too. I’m not sure he could be at home in Liverpool but if he’s away and hasn’t notified them that would take him off the list.

With many of these cases they’re re enlisted within a month or so.

Smith would be one I would be fairly surprised if he did fail, so it was unfortunate he was the person in the tweet. Just makes me wonder why it happens so often, is all admin, or is it a nice 6 week window to have free reign

It's expensive, £40,000(?) a year. No need to sign up if you do not plan on targeting the WBC or until it is required by contract when signing a fight.

Photo proves nothing except he filled out the first page of the form and he can spell his own name. Probably tried to dodge it until the last possible minute. If anyone wants to download the form, print out and take their own picture for twitter the form is available to download here:
