You are focusing too much on how good Floyd was compared to this younger self instead of how good Floyd still was compared to other fighters. All that matters is that at age 37, Floyd was still considered a far better fighter than Maidana, and had the fight not happened, you, and just about everyone would have said that that version of Floyd would have easily schooled Maidana. Because of styles and because of his performance against Canelo and him beating Pacquiao around that time. Whether he would have had an easier time with Maidana when younger, while most likely true, it's not relevant. I'm telling you that whenever someone mentions a guy like Margarito, who, for me, would have wrecked Maidana in his prime, people say "Marg was slow, had primitive skills, he was a plodder". Maidana was all those things and still troubled a still P4P #1 Floyd.
Yeah it gets pretty ridiculous when it comes to any slick boxer vs pressure fighter predictions. The pressure fighter never has a chance, had Frazier never fought Ali or Duran never fought Leonard, most people would just say they would have gotten outboxed easily.
He troubled pbf because he was past his prime. A prime pbf only had 2 close fights against better fighters than maidana. A past prime 37 year old pbf still beat maidana 2x. You would have to suggest that a prime pbf would beat maidana easily that's all im saying. We disagree about margo he wasnt good the version of pbf who beat baldo would have tooled margo.
Duran and frazier are light years beyond that of a glove loading cheat like margo horrible comparison
I predicted Maidana would win rounds and put up a fight on the level or greater than the Cotto fight. I also am one of maybe a dozen who vocally picked Maidana to beat Broner before the opening bell. Comes down to underrating Maidana, that. As for Mayweather vs. Maidana... that was 2014 older man Mayweather who decided to plant his feet and slug it out with Maidana. And Floyd still won with a couple to spare. Mayweather could 119-109 Margarito in his sleep. He would feint Clottey into throwing five punches a round and would never plant his feet for Clottey to jab in and throw his upper cuts. These aren't 1940's style matchups you could be a fun hipster and point out some things. These are whitewashes. Unworthy of a thread. You say: "This is why you have to make the fights." Aaaaaand that is why Floyd has fought and beat more top 10 ranked, top 3 ranked, former/present/future titlists, lineal champions, and probably HOF'ers than anybody within decades of him if ever. You look like a fool saying dumb stuff like that.
Nothing was dumb. Everything made perfect sense. You predicted it? Woah, that must mean that was the consensus! If Floyd had never fought Maidana, since Nonito Smoak predicted it, no one would say Maidana would have gotten schooled 12-0! Sound argument. Every time I see the argument that Floyd "decided to plant his feet" I don't even take that post seriously anymore. Typical Floyd nuthugger who every time he struggles says it's because he wanted to give the fans a show or some bull**** like that. Absolutely delusional.
The only time I agree that he wanted to give his fans a show was against Tenshin Nasukawa and McGregor. (maybe Berto too?) Other then that, yeah, it's BS...
I read your comments troll and it's typical wishful thinking. A broken hand is what you're resorting to in your pathetic argument lmfao. Reeks of desperation at its highest level just so you can try to give margo some validity.
So Pacquiao clearly beat Jeff Horn, yet still has Jeff Horn problems, meanwhile the best Floyd did against Maidana in the first fight was fight him to a draw, yet Floyd beat him 2x. No wonder you cant be taken seriously.
