Skavynskyi is the IBF Baltic welterweight champion, but obviously that belt isn't on the line today as neither made the welter limit.

I just woke up. The esb page is always open when I'm online, and I always have some device on and connected. I like the convenience of having any question that pops into my head answered by a quick search. My little manic swings require lots of mental stimuli.

Scouting report: Skavynskyi may be harboring a glass jaw, so don't hang your hopes on him too confidently. :nono: He was knocked out in the amateurs by Ievgen Khytrov, and was knocked down by Vaginak Tamrazyan prior to "stopping" Tamrazyan on injury.

"El Perfecto" Galessi has a decent track record on the Argentine domestic scene, picking up some respectable scalps there, but I'm not sure he's quite the puncher to expose any deficiencies in Skavynskyi's chin.

    Pretty competitive match-up so far.

Well...the first round was. Skavynskyi beginning to warm up and dominate in the second.

Galessi pretty game, rebounding every time he starts getting skewered with long body shots and fighting his way off the ropes with a blend of above-the-waist defensive tricks and well-placed counter shots, but Skavynskyi is just ripping into him with uppercuts and seems the physically stronger of the pair.

Third is a Skavynskyi round, but his nose is bloodied.

Skavynskyi cruising, although Galessi does have a shining moment here and there walking him onto a jab or dipping to his left to plant a hook on the body. Galessi now has a nasty cut in the corner of his left eye.

This is an interesting chess match...not a great scrap. It could be, if they weren't both quite so reserved.

The commentator just said the names "Errol Spence" and "Manny Pacquiao" and...just, no. There is no universe in which Skavynskyi can do anything to ever be ready for either of them. Just leave it be. He can maybe add some other regional hardware to his Baltic title, and might even creep into some org's world top 15 rankings...but the idea of this low-volume chinny (relative) mediocrity in with a Spence or Pac is just ludicrous. He'd be destroyed in two rounds by either.

@SladeW how do you have it scored through six? You seem to be the only person consistently watching. (@ShovelHook disappeared an hour ago)

I think you could have it a shutout for Skavynskyi, though I had the first 10-10. Maybe two rounds in there for Galessi, but that would be a stretch.

Both had moments where they got lit up in the sixth...but Skavynskyi was in the 'dishing it out' role more often. He needs to button down his defense, though, especially since he isn't throwing enough to have the 'offense is my defense' argument.

Galessi's face is a morass of lumpy misshapen tissue. :vomiton22je:

His corner should pull him in the next round or two if he doesn't execute a turnaround. Swelling could make it hard to see punches coming soon.
