Prime for prime who would win? I think Hagler simply because Canelo has not reache his prime yet, he`s improving all the time, however I`m posting this thread which has been done before because it has come to light in Canelo`s last two bouts that he simply doesn`t throw enough shots to become an ATG like Marvin. Could his style fustrate Hagler enough for the win though?

I disagree that after 15 years and nearly 60 fights that Canelo hasn’t reached prime...

Canelo is probably 175 when he fights at middleweight and is even bigger when he fights at 168, 75. Canelo and Hagler are not the same size fighters even if the class is still called "Middleweight." Hagler never moved up in weight when he was fighting, and weighed 156.5, 157, 158 for Duran, Magabi, and SRL. That was with a same day weigh in. The boxers of today who weigh less than 160 at fight time probably weigh in at 140 or 47 with the day before weigh in.

Hagler would ruin Alvarez. Hagler was Just a different level of fighter.

Hagler would win decisively, but Alvarez would walk away with the decision.

Yes but Canelo`s body doesn`t look bigger or stronger than Hagler`s their biceps look around te same size and Hagler would hae a huge reach advantage on Canelo, Hagler`s jab was brilliant and he threw far more jabs than Canelo does now.

Canelo is basically a light heavyweight. Same day weigh-in he’d be a dead man but all he has to do is survive and in Vegas I think he wins a golden boy decision. Assuming he’s still allowed to weigh in a day prior he gets outclassed again to be honest. He’s not near Hagler’s level.
