Haymon also ordered him a Hardee's ⅔lb Monster Thickburger with fries and coke.

Anne Wolf. Put Kirklsnd through the ringer, no mercy training camps. She might get Ruiz down to welter. LOL

Yes, I'm serious. The trainer has zero power over Ruiz. You are failing to understand that Ruiz employees him. You do realize Ruiz can fire him at any moment he feels like. You make it sounds like the trainer has control over the guy that is employing him. If Ruiz doesn't show up he doesn't show up. You aren't going to be able to drag him into the gym. It is not standard practice for a trainer to hire people to follow you, to drag your ass into the gym.

Put all the rules in place you want but if he wants to leave for a night club or an interview with a TV station WTF is anyone going to do . Nothing. He is the boss. As the boss this ultimately falls on him.

You're taking the term "trainer" too literal.

Manny is his BOXING COACH. Andy's gain in weight is between Andy and his nutritionist, not Andy and his boxing coach.

You think Emmanuel Steward kept his eye on Lewis's diet, meal prepped for him, gave him treats when he stayed on the wagon? Get real.

Ricky Hatton had to bring in a NUTRITIONIST to lose weight. Kerry Kayes was his name. Guess who is BOXING COACH was? Thank you.

Remember that time when Freddie Roach devised a diet plan for Manny? Me neither.

Robles had ZERO chance of getting Ruiz in shape. Know why? Because Ruiz wouldn't have listened to him (or anyone) and ate what he wanted.

Andy was ALWAYS fat, so why fire the coach now? By your loci it should have happened years ago.

Weak. Ruiz is where he's at because he gorged himself like a pig off the AJ payday and showed up 2 months late for training camp. Mark my words this joker is done at top level.

I sort of understand the logic, regardless if Robles is a great trainer the fact is he couldn't get Ruiz in the gym and training.

That's not all Robles' fault but if you're not commanding the respect of a fighter, if you're not basically calling the shots, especially in the gym then you might as well forget it.

Ruiz might just need a new face around him, new challenges, fresh ideas, some motivation but if he messes up like he did last time out then it's over for him.

Not a defeat but if he turns up to a fight looking like he's been on some sort of morbid obesity challenge with that couldn't care less attitude.

Thank God people finally woke up and stopped making these irritating "Ruiz Jr. vs. Foreman" and "Ruiz Jr. vs. Schmeling" threads. Good riddance, this tub of lard had this 5 minutes of fame and now he's back at C level where he has always been.

Sounds like Ruiz is a man-child. He is not the man or professional he should be and needs a strong and controlling trainer to keep him on the straight and narrow.

That is more than a boxing trainer.

Maybe he needs to join the Marines as that will give him the tightly controlled and disciplined environment he needs.

I'm kidding of course but it sounds like he benefit from stronger discipline. The problem though is, if he has the brain of a peanut, he will not take responsibility and understand that is what he needs.

I hope the dude gets it together. He has potential.

Ruiz is pathetic. I don`t see how anyone can blame his coach. Firstable he wanted him 2 months early, yet Ruiz shows up 2 months later. He by himself admit he eat everything and apologies to his coach and his dad. Firstable his coach is not responsible for his lifestyle. Also there is a nutritionist who make processional athlete diets, drugs and supplements, but he can make you the best diet, the best dosage of drugs and supplements and if you not follow them, its useless. And no one can make you eat, sleep, train, and so on, except for you.
And white i agree that the coach should be helping with motivation, thats not the case with Ruiz.
Lost motivation fighter recently i remember is Klitschko with Banks. Banks was a fictional trainer.

After thinking about it, I see the logic in Haymon demanding a change in trainers.

He's looking at Ruiz as an investment. He wants a return on that investment. He has to try something new to get something more out of the deal.

So..try to get Ruiz into a new situation. Have him train at Big Bear or in the Catskills under a motivator and disciplinarian. Try something new.

I do see the logic. Ultimately it's up to Ruiz himself but... trying something different represents a shot at salvaging Ruiz career.

He needs to go on the biggest loser and challenge Callum Smith for the super middle title.

Ruiz doesn't seem the brightest so is probably quite easily swayed by others. More a case of that than him being a bad guy I suspect.
