Boxeo di Primera: Kevin Luis Muñoz vs. Juan Ramón Averanga Gonzales RBR

Averanga survived, not sure whether he got dropped again during the half-minute time skip there, but that was at least a 10-8, putting Muñoz's lead at 30-26 (or wider) on my card.

 

Averanga has turned southpaw in a bid to confuse Muñoz and prolong his life in this one. Results inconclusive. He manages to not get finished off in the fourth, but that is probably as much to do with repeated high sailing feints turned into grabs around Muñoz's neck to clinch (a strategy that could have been executed from either stance).

40-35 Muñoz

 

The commentator for TyC Sports has it 40-35.5 Muñoz on their unofficial scorecard. (yes, for the uninitiated, in Argentina they do 10-9.5 for rounds that are too close for 10-9 but not quite too hard to call to make a 10-10... so that card, given there was a knockdown, means they had a 10-10 and 10-9.5 in addition to a 10-8 in there for Muñoz. Argentinian scorecards get confusing in a hurry...)

 

I'm getting at most four uninterrupted seconds of picture at once...but the weird part is that I sometimes get nearly a minute of continuous audio while the image remains static or pixelated.

 

Commentator has it 50-44.5 to Muñoz now.

 

No indication this has ceased to be a shutout for Muñoz, widened by at least one point for a knockdown. 60-53 at the halfway mark. Probably.

Averanga seems to still be messing around with the southpaw experiment. Not sure that is going to cut it.

edit: the commentator did give him that round, however (eighth) so...maybe.

They now have it 79-72.5 Muñoz.

 

Tepid pace in the ninth.

 

Averanga with some bowstring lefts scoring nicely with sinuous leans inside, but Muñoz retaliates with a 1-2-1-2 that drives him into the ropes to conclude a fairly entertaining round ten.

 

Commentator gave Muñoz that one and now has it 98.5-91.5 for him.

 

Muñoz seemed in control down the stretch.
