100% correct. Bellew was gassing down to the style he used, on his nerves kinda thing. Imo he would've been took out sooner otherwise, it was a cute call. It put Usyk on edge, or more alert, he knew exactly what was happening so took his time
They are only fooling themselves, at the end of every fight its always the same, no matter how good they are, he tames them..Best cruiser resume of all time imo, Gassiev, Breidis etc are monsters then Hunter Huck etc are all excellent fighters
Did you read the 'more skilled: Uysk or Canelo' thread? Some of the nonsense being spouted on there was beyond ridiculous.
Yup. He called Brook with same offer CEJ was wavering on... and Brook accepted on the spot supposedly.
A few things: 1. He didn't need a special clause. Dominic Ingle would pull any of his fighters out if he thought they were getting hurt and that they couldn't win the fight etc. Any respected and professional trainer should always have their fighters health as their number one priority. 2. He could have just come and tried to have survived. His pay check was safe. He didn't have to push GG and fire off rapid fire combinations which made GG more aggressive. He had the skills and speed to fight very negatively to try and keep himself as safe as possible. 3. It doesn't matter if they were of similar size and weight. He'd never been in with a world class puncher at MW before. It was a huge step up. Oscar De La Hoya was of a similar stature to Bernard Hopkins.
He was a warrior but you can’t say he did better than CLEN aka Big Red. Canelo went the distance twice (lost first fight IMO) with GGG where as Special K went DOWN
These top fighters got ego’s that will see them fighting anyone. It’s up to their handlers to guide them appropriately, in this case, bad handling. Brook’s entire career, actually, was always badly handled/managed. Don’t know if it’s Hearn’s doing or Brook’s own manager/advisor.
Hearn had PPV slot he was committed to providing Sky and CEJ was slated to fight GGG until negotiations broke down, late in the day. Then 'fast car' turned to the only fighter in his stable with a big enough name who could box at 160... Brook. It has been suggested Kell took a bit of persuading to take the fight, but I guess money talks and egos sign contracts. I blame Hearn for letting this happen and putting his business needs ahead of the health of a fighter, albeit Brook was well paid.
Exactly that, Snr wanted Bazza commentating also or the deal was off lol..What a nut job And he also wanted the first dollar to drop in to Jnrs pocket from the revenue FIRST !!!! WTF was he playing at, a contract with SKY or Hearn is sufficient enough for everyone else, he was asking for demands that were never gonna be met and that was crystal clear his game, if they say no its them stopping the fight
The way GGG use to be able to cut the ring off he wasn't never gonna hide from him without getting seriously hurt/stopped, the pressure was to much for a smaller man no matter how skilled Brook is/was
