Does Wilder punch harder than Bruno, Tyson or Ruddock, or Smith in their primes?

    I’d agree with that
But it’s a bit of a tainted win.
Ortiz is ancient. Have to see how both look in there next fights to get a better feel for the quality of that win.

I think Ruddock or Mike would probably smash wilder to bits. Wilder has a punchers chance but I wouldn’t give him the edge in either of those bouts.

Cant really tell due Wilders level of opposition so far in his career being so poor. Also Wilder has never fought a big puncher yet and has avoided them like the plague.

We need to see how Wilder fairs against the top guys in the divison AJ, Whyte, Parker, Ruiz, Hunter, Povetkin, Pulev and Usyk before we say how Wilder fairs as a puncher.

Wilder hits very hard no doubt. His power is unusual for a HW fast lightning punch like Hearns.Ruddock had more of a smashing power Tyson put punches together to get people out .Bruno had real power one punch as did Smith but wilder seems to generate speed which equals impact .

Jennings was probably better than a lot of Bruno`s KO victims.

Why does Ruddock have more than a punchers chance?

His technique is better then Wiilder.
& landed some sneaky “smash” punches.
    It was beautiful.

If Tyson, Ruddock, or Smith took 2-3 hops and wound up their punches 180 degrees from the back like Super Macho Man in Punchout to land the KO, they'd just punch as hard or harder than Wilder.

If it were strictly combinations and KO power standing on flat foot with no hops or haymakers, Tyson is the most powerful puncher of all.

I would put him on the same level. Ortiz doesn't have any good wins on his resume outside of a Jennings fight that happened years before Wilder fought him.

    McCall was better than ortiz.

A career best win over Jennings or a career best win over Lewis? Easy choice.

Can some people pleaeaease stop being "sloppy" in analytical technique & confusing skill, effectiveness & KO ability with 1 punch power?

The question is who hits harder or the hardest. Going by KOs provides misleading *incorrect* information.

Wht Wilder or anyone actually does re: defeating or losing to World Class boxers establishes less than *nothing* about the question at hand.
Possibly the hardest puncher ever never boxed.
Or was so bad that he never got anywhere with it.

Tyson hits the least hard of all those listed.
Though he hits extremely hard by normal standards, & was the best boxer overall, & more likely to KO you with his speed, accuracy, defense & combinations.

I agree with the man who just said if the others wound up & walked/hopped/ran forward with a punch, they would hit at least as hard as Wilder. Likely most of them harder.

Maybe harder than Ruddock and Smith but not harder than Tyson. Tyson was one of the hardest punchers of all time.

Bruno, hard to say. Different types of power.

Bruno’s jab would sleep 98% of Wilders opponents
