I get the idea that he was a bit better than his record suggests.

I will clarify what I am saying.

I think that the best fighter that he had the potential to beat, would be a bit better than Bentt or shopworn Tucker.

I would make Hide a strong favorite over Harrison.

Which would make Hide a half-decent domestic level boxer?

Hey, it was a simple question, dude. One that needs clarifying. Were you talking about the Ehinomen Ehikhamenor or one of those many imitators seeking to capitalize on his accomplishments?

I don't know why people keep leaving off Craig Petersen. I watched him while he was active. He beat Alex Stewart, Bert Cooper, Lionel Butler, Jimmy Thunder ... he was a good fighter.

Who the hell did Jean Maurice Chanet beat? I think I saw him three times and he lost all of them badly.

Australia hasn't produced a lot of top heavyweights. But Craig Petersen is on the list.

And I'd rank Jeff Lampkin, Ruediger May and James Pritchard higher than some names here. They were all world-ranked cruiserweights.

Yes, Petersen was millions times better than Chanet. Other guys you listed (Lampkin, May, Pritchard) were much better than Chanet as well. Hell, even Willie Fischer, Nuri Seferi, Ehikhamenor, Nasyrov all were better than Chanet. Chanet was a real bum, he was afwul

I think he would have beaten Botha. Botha's resume (wins) wasn't any better than Hide's one. His best official win was a gift decision against Mike Hunter, who clearly beat him. It has to be said though that Botha deserved the win against Shannon Briggs

Probably not, it has to be said. But only worse by a shade or three.
