If they fight, boxing fans lose. I hate these sideshow fights. Crawford isn’t a huge POV star and I’m surprised there is enough money to make this happen. They won’t get any of my money. Suckers. I could see a retired guy or a global star like PAC taking this fight. Crawford is a prime fighter and should be focused on unifying WW. Not fighting MMA guys. Leave that to older guys looking for a payout after paying their dues. Crawford hasn’t even fought a legit top 5 Welter. Beat Spence and Porter before taking this fight. Fight Manny even but leave the MMA guys to non prime boxers. I’m surprised we haven’t seen JCC jr. call out an MMA guy. He’s exhausted his goodwill in the boxing ring. This could be a last payday and keep him on the couch with his bong filled to the brim for life. Crawford fighting by MMA rules will never happen. Too dangerous and he would have zero chance of winning. Plus, he could get his knee kicked or take a kick or elbow to the head and blow out an orbital. Too risky for a prime fighter. Crawford would have zero chance of winning an MMA fight or even a round against a top challenger, even one like Conor. He’d crush any MMA guy in a boxing match but do we really need to see that again?
The only boxer I really can recall that has any semblance of a background in wrestling is Kermit Cintron. Supposedly he was a stud. Are there any others? A boxer would get eaten alive under MMA rules without any other discipline to fall back on..
I hate these crossover fights. They do nothing but bilk casuals of their money. It doesn't bother me if the old guys want to do it, but Crawford is a prime pfp fighter.
You know what, let them get this done This will only lift up Crawford's name with casuals and maybe they can finally make that Spence fight, and it will be even bigger PPV. Unless they can make Spence fight this year.
The professional of each respective sports beats the one that isn't a professional in that respective sport.
Conor doesn`t really have a great ground game, he`d simply take Crawford out the ssame way he took his last MMA opponent out, Crawford does not know how to defend against kicks, he`d get destroyed in seconds.
They should only do it if Spence promises to fight the winner, which he won`t because he`s ducking Bud.
Basically it`s like when Toney gave up against an MMA fighter because he had him in grip on the floor that he could not get out of, Conor submitted to Khabib on the floor.
