I only flagged two "close" rounds - and if you shift the 1st & 9th to Baresford it makes a draw...so that's my range. (116-112 or 115-113 Farmer, or 1114-114). The official scorecards were maybe a tad ungenerous to Baresford, as there weren't any rounds for him that I thought could nudge the other way to make it any wider than my 116-112 Farmer.

Still don't see a case for him winning, though. :nusenuse:

Hmm ...so now I'm curious which of the rounds I gave Baresford each of the official judges didn't (since each gave him only 3 rounds per the scorecards)

IMO the second, fourth, seventh and eighth were very clear for Jono. I'm not sure I see a path to a 117-110 or 117-111 card for Tevin Farmer any more than I can see Baresford winning.

    ...alright @CST80 - your turn. :D

...watching Hatanaka vs. Phoyaem, er, as soon as that's even possible.

    @IntentionalButt

    I just scored it again.

    Round 1 Carroll 10-9, close
    Round 2 Carroll 10-9
Round 3 Carroll 10-9, very close
    Round 4 Carroll 10-9
    Round 5 Farmer 10-9, close
    Round 6 Farmer 10-9, close
    Round 7 Carroll 10-9, close
    Round 8 Carroll 10-9
    Round 9 Carroll 10-9
    Round 10 Farmer 10-9, close
    Round 11 Farmer 10-9
    Round 12 Farmer 10-9

    115-113 Carroll

I missed the first minute of the 10th the first time around, and the last two were fairly even, but I originally scored it close for Jono, yeah that was off, so I switched it. The third I didn't think Farmer landed enough, he clearly landed the quality, but for every big shot... Jono landed 3 or 4 small ones to negate them. But fine, I have zero problem with anyone giving it to either of them.

But I stand by the rest of my card.

All four us were in agreement on the concrete foundation of rounds 2, 4, 7 & 8 for Jono.

Yep, which shows just how maddening those 117 scores were. Those 4 weren't really up for debate.

    :bump

I haven't given Idol vs. JoJo much thought, as it has smacked of "Farmer via boring UD" since it was announced... but considering how close Baresford ran him, and that Díaz - while maybe not everything he was cracked up to be heading into & early on in pros - is waaaaaaay better than Baresford...and could arguably have been given a draw vs. GRJ (who is less accurate than Farmer but a good deal faster, which did have an impact on Díaz and will be not be as much of a factor tomorrow), well... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I have, for about 5 seconds, and came to this conclusion.:sisi1
And once before back in August when the fight was first rumored.

Wait, so is (or was) Farmer ducking to fight Díaz? I lose track of (and honestly always have been completely bored witless by, even when I had more time for it) the outside-the-ring boxing politics and social media beefing stuff...

If he does lose to Jo-Jo, though, he won't be in a position to be ducking anyone (or calling out any of the big names) for a while. The amount of trash Farmer has talked, you can't just shake off a loss to a B+ guy and get to skip your walk of shame.

Also wtf exactly is Carroll's real name??? I have found no less than four possible combinations with variant spellings of his first and last.

    Jonath

...and yeah, I know some wisenheimer is going to pip in with "it'd be a lot easier if you just used his ring name, IB. :)" - but STFU! :pipi

I'm goddamn OCD and need to know.

You know what, I have no idea what the hell that was all about either.:nusenuse::lol: Because I don't care about any of that **** either. IIRC, I think it might have been rumored for a fraction of a second that he was going to face some guy around the same level of JoJo and he didn't want it, but I honestly have no clue.

Ah, thought maybe his longtime dream fight against Tank Davis had actually been negotiated at one point only for him to be like "nah, I want Jo-Jo" instead. Because that shit would have been straight up bananas.
