Damn that woulda really meant something coming from a poster on here I respected, I've seen you on here for years and should have figured you'd show up on a post that could potentially be related to Tyson just to try to be edgy and downplay his career, I've seen too many dumb biased posts by you before on here to even take you seriously
he actually didn’t face Vingo or Lastarza until he was three years into his career. But I agree that rose tinted glasses people are seeing Mitch Green through are getting out of hand.
Lasting against Prime Tyson is a greater show of durability then the Rock ever achieved he would indefinitely out speed Rock and out box him. Green isn't a 40 year old journey man or an out of shape cruiser weight this is the realist deal Rocky has ever faced an athletic modern man mountain with killer intent.
Vingo was 20 years old having his 1st 10rounder, he wasn't some experienced guy Rocky had to overcome. Marciano and Lastarza both turned pro in1947 and fought in1950.
Perhaps in between all the holding and hitting and leaning and sloppy slap shots, you can point out the boundless talent and skill of this modern athletic phenomenon. This content is protected
Here is where you and I concur. Vingo was a child who had no business in the ring with any decent fighter. Sadly he was wrecked and could have been killed.
Rocky had one fight in 47 didn’t fight for a year and half later till July of 48 so technically your right but you know he didn’t have any real training in that time period. He wasn’t like Tyson where he was groomed from the beginning and had an extensive amateur career as well as great trainers from the beginning. Goldman didn’t even want anything to do with him till he proved himself. I disagree with Vingo. He was thought of locally as a good young talent. Was just brought up against the wrong guy.
Technically correct as Mcvey states as well but his fist fight was in 3/47 he didn’t fight again till 7/48 that’s a large gap and it’s early and I forget why that gap is there lol Marciano didn’t have an amateur career really and never had real training to start his career.
Man, this was a time when Mike was blowing everyone out. U gotta give Green a lot of credit, although beaten, he showed much skill, slipping many shots, countering, and also a lot of good shots, heavy shots. An excellent effort!
