I still remember it, the day they announced it. It was on that day that I realized Manny was 36 and Floyd 38. It finally hit me that the fight had truly come too late. I don´t remember having much of an expectation for it. I was of course excited about who was gonna win, but I already knew it wasn´t the fight it once were to be. Man, and usually old guys put up better fights, but sometimes **** like this happens.
It just ended up a poor fight didnt it. Both became very tentative all night, Manny actually wobbled Floyd on two occassions but couldnt make either time count much. Floyd was happy to jab and grab all night and Manny seemed happy just to get the payday.
