Verón is giving it a good college try, waving a left jab to set up his bombs and yet not able to fool Shelestyuk with his feints, nor find him in time before Shelestyuk has rolled out the side door and swung a pendulous body counter or begun to slide his feet apart to unfurl the right jab into Verón's mouth. A few near misses for Verón jabbing and thrusting in a long probing right, but Shelestyuk manages to hang in the pocket and time him with a quick left, stunning Verón.

Verón starts out targeting Shelestyuk's nose, the bridge of which is a crimson obelisk. Some of that hemoglobin is spattering up onto Shelestyuk's brow and into his eyes, but he still has the ring vision to lure Verón around the ring and score jabs at will. Verón now starts redirecting his shots, plunging low and straight into the body. Shelestyuk is twisting like a mathematical compass on his lead foot to make Verón's punches slide off him and scoring counter right jabs on the face or lefts on the body.
