I thought Beterbiev would be figured out at top level, but he's too physically strong

I always thought he was the goods, but I thought that when he was finally matched with the tip top guys he would looks sluggish, crude, ineffective.

But something weird happened. Nobody can deal with this man's strength.

Usually guys who rely on blinding speed, huge power, great reflexes, physicality, etc. usually get figured out by a top technician and then everybody realizes that they were just good and not great.

But this guys strength is for real. It's out of this world.

Agree. The Nail is a top class boxer with good power and just eventually got overwhelmed by Bebertiev. He's a beast and no mistake.

Any LHW who trades with him will lose.

That's because Beterbiev is much smarter in the ring than he's usually given credit for combined with the factors you described.

    I agree

I thought the nail would box his head off for 12 rounds

Callum Johnson dumped beterbiev on his bum but it was just shaken off

I was really looking forward to beterbiev vs Kovalev or browne but he beats both now imo

Not to mention The Nail is massive for a LHW and is probably a natural CW or even HW. And Beterbiev just walked right through him.

I’m a big Beterbiev fan and think he’s The strongest LH in the division. Some people have amnesia regarding the fight with the Nail. Gvoz was winning rounds in that fight and it was very close before he ran out of gas. Beterbiev was landing several shots behind the head and they made a huge difference in the fight. He’s lucky the ref didn’t call him on it, take away points or DQ him. They were pretty blatant. I still think he was too strong for The Nail, a very talented fighter, but those rabbit punches made the difference. I believe Nail suffered a concussion because of the behind the head punches.

Something is amiss in the marketing of Beterbiev. This guy has the potential to be one of the greats because of his strength and ability to KO people and yet he is not being marketed properly. His time is slipping away, which is a shame. Promoters are missing out on some big paydays by not raising Beterbiev's persona.

Yeah the clock is ticking on this dude for real. He has wasted so many years with court battles and inactivity.

Disagree with this assessment. Beterbiev was not hitting Gvoz behind the head. Gvoz was dropping his head often to avoid shots and some times those shots landed toward the back of the head but he was not hitting behind the head. Most of the damage, though, was done from body shots. The body shots broke Gvoz down and most of the shots Gvoz "landed" did not impact Beterbiev. Beterbiev also blocked a lot of the shots they were giving Gvoz credit for landing.

It's not his strength. Raw power means nothing if you can't land. Otherwise we'd all be living in Valuev's personal kingdom also known as planet earth.
