If,as you are implying, Louis still retained his power.
What is your explanation for Louis only scoring 3 inside the distance wins in his ten fight comeback and 2 of them were tkos?

No, mentioning Cleveland Williams in every thread is childish, not to mention puerile.

You say you're prepared to acknowledge this but previously you've claimed that he "beat" Clarence Henry and that he "fought" 70+ times in 27 months. Now you're admitting that many of his bouts were nothing but "tame sparring". Just how many real fights are you suggesting Louis had in this period?

Yes I don’t believe it is incorrect to say “fought” if Louis was knocking guys out. do you?

If he took it easy on some Louis still fought them. Louis was an active unbeaten champion whatever way you look at it. Seems like every month or so he was knocking guys out for real in front of a paid audience even if he was taking it easy with some.

I wonder if Elmer Ray, Nino Valdes, Pat Valentino ever thought they were any less knocked out because they were counted out in front of a paying audience in something called an exhibition?

A sad attempt at goading which, despite the support of your fellow two stooges, failed miserably.

Omg lol nocked out must b real

People are knocked out in sparring, too. If counting that as real helped you bolster the status of one of your favourites you'd be on here explaining why that was "real" and proved that fighter x wasn't really retired.

Well I was unaware of all these ‘exhibitions Louis had and, to be fair , the Valentino one looks full on to me!
If you didn’t know otherwise anyone would swear blind it was a full on bout!

Yeah, reading about them here, watching what's available it seems like some of them were full on, and some of them were a bit of a joke.

    You know, like exhibitions.

But if you're seriously purporting reason to the claim that Joe Louis wasn't really retired because of these fights, that's where I have to heave you off the sanity train.

After the Charles fight blind in one eye Valentino never fought again.

He fought Louis then he retired. It was a fight.

“Valentino boxed an exhibition against Joe Louis in Chicago on December 7, 1949, and was knocked out in the eighth round. Valentino retired after the exhibition.

the “exhibition” was hard fought. Film evidence bares this out. No head guards. Set for 10 rounds. Full count in front of a paying audience.
