Until Canelo gets KOd or knocked down and hurt, I’m not picking anyone to knock him out. Tommy is one of the greats but he would frequently want to mix it up in big fights versus using his size and speed. The Hagler fight is one of the most violent exchanges I have ever seen. I’ve never seen Canelo in that kind of war. Even though Tommy didn’t come out on top, he earned my respect forever as a true warrior of the fight game. Canelo has become very disciplined and is fighting at a high level. Have to give him props.

I’m not officially predicting anything but it would probably be an all time classic fight. Never underestimate the man from the Motor City! Tommy was a bad dude.

Hearns could box or punch with the best of them.
I can't see a fighter with all the close calls that Canelo has beating Hearns.
Hearns' chin gets a bad rap. He was only stopped three times in a career that spanned from welterweight to cruiserweight.

Canelo way too powerful, talented and tough for hearns to ever have a real shot.

Hearns chin and true stamina issues took his true A level talent down to a flashy B fighter.

Talk about stamina issues, hearns had real issues that changed his entire career of what could had been to what was

My initial gut reaction is Hearns...but Canelo’s chin vs Hearn’s seemingly lack there of could be an issue. I’d still favor Hearns but not as cut and dry as it may appear on first glance.

If Hearns stayed boxing I think he could win comfortably, if chooses to mix it up and get drawn into a war it could be problematic.

No, Hearns was great v Hagler at 160 despite going on the slide after that at 160, Canelo looks much better at 168 and 175 than Hearns did, Tommy never had his old speed at those weights and Canelo was far harder to hit in his fights at 168 than Hearns was.

Hearns was great, but I can't see him hurting Canelo. Canelo hasn't been KO'd or even dropped, so he's got a certified granite chin.
Hearns lack of chin could be a problem because I can see Canelo landing solid right hands. Welterweight Hearns takes it, Middleweight and above I'd give it to Canelo

I see how Hearns would stop him. Canelo fought anyone like Hearns who had that reach and leverage and speed. I could see this like the Duran fight.

Canelo looked better at 175 than Hearns? Fighting a washed Kovalev? and 168? Hearns fought hall of famer Virgil Hill who was undefeated and had 10 title defensesat 175. This is a case of Canelo getting knocked out in a few rounds. This is a great fight Tommy stylistically.

Canelo would have to walk through the jab and right hand. A lot of leverage and speed. The older Hearns might struggle but the younger Hearns takes out Canelo in a few rounds. Hearns style worked on everyone. Shuler was shorter and smaller? Virgil Hill? He moved up and fought Wilfred. Tommy had trouble when he kept on moving up and down from 160 to 154 to 175 to 160.. But when he stayed awhile he knocked guys out.
