I was 24 yrs old. Saw it live, and just had that feeling..... Especially when hearing Douglass's mother passed, and he still wanted to fight. ( How much bigger can a incentive get to perform at one's best?) And Tyson wasn't training seriously,or hard, as if Douglas would fall down after he fired his 1st punch at him. When they entered the ring that night, Douglas was loose, confident. Tyson was trying the intimidation / bully tactics but after that 1strd, Tyson seemed reluctant, confused. Like I said, I had that feeling...

I was watching it in my living room alone and you could see Douglas was winning and then he wobbled Tyson at the end of I think round 9 and you knew it would be almost done. Then round 10 and I called my friend and we were all excited.

Didn't even bother watching the fight, Tyson was so friggin' dominant at the time ... I was in a Blockbuster (!) and overheard two guys saying, "Yeah, it was about time he got beat" I wondered what the hell they were talking about, then it hit me ... I left my copy of The Happy Ponies On a Picnic on the shelf and ran home, turned on ESPN; disbelief. Loss? By KO? The world no longer made sense. I went back to Blockbuster and snapped up that Happy Ponies cassette like it was my salvation and spent the next day sipping coffee and wondering what it all meant ...

I didn't see it live was 7 but I remember the sombre feeling around the place the next morning it was like he was shot dead and then the rows and scraps in school a few days later when anybody dared utter that Douglas was better than Tyson.
