Guy has below average striking defense, chin, and average striking. He also has a tremendous weight cut. He will not take the body kick over 5 rounds.
If below average striking and power Colby can hurt him, he will not escape and stall for 5 rounds vs masvidal.
Guy is boring in and out of the cage.
His time as champ is coming to an end.
Then who will masvidal have to beat to earn your respect? lol

I want Masvidal to win but I expect Usman to win a fairly comfortable decision, maybe 4 rds to 1 with his grinding wrestling style. I would love to see Masvidal brutally finish Usman but I don't see that happening.

This is a good breakdown, people are overlooking Masvidal's entire career for some reason... He's fought many wrestlers... They never held him down. Demian Maia was able to hang onto him because of the submission game, NOT his wrestling.

This fight is closer than people think. TS also forgot about dudes terrible knees/knee injuries. Masvidal kicks the knee a lot. If he fights smart in how he approaches the takedowns and general wrestling I think he's got this in the bag.

Masvidal is slightly overrated for me, chiefly due to his amazing year in 2019.

That said, he seems far stronger and comfortable at 170 than at 155, so perhaps he will take Usman out.

Usman is percieved as boring but the dude has beaten Covington, Woodley, Dos Anjos and Maia on the bounce. He is not an easy fight for anybody.

Will masvidal get people’s respect after he stops usman? Or is there gonna be excuses?

    I respect every fighter.

I don't like every fighter though.

    There is a clear distinction.

    "He got lucky"
    Covington - terrible striker.
Woodley - lowest output striker that is easily shut down by anyone who mixes strikes with grappling
Dos Anjos - doesn't have stopping power at 170, backs up in straight lines, tries to out-strength wrestlers in grappling exchanges
Maia - got tagged and backed up by Maia on the feet.

None of those guys are making Usman pay for his lack of defense. He got buzzed by Covington of all people. Masvidal gameplans right he'll finish Usman. His only real issue here is he's undersized, especially considering Usman is a cutter who belongs at 185 (where he wrestled) but instead fights smaller guys.

Masvidal is gonna touch this guys body wear him down and stop him. Usman size and weight cut will not be an advantage but a disadvantage. These guys that cut weight have weak chins and can’t absorb the damage.
I see everything you said aswell.

I was thinking he would attack the body & legs. When Usman initiates grappling exchanges, he creatively reverses and pops back up/breaks.

But I've never seen a champion that looks so beatable, jeez. Usman is always asking to be hit, I don't get the dominant champ comments.

    I agree
He has average striking and below average striking defense.
People are underestimating masvidals athletic ability and wrestling ability. They literally think usman will be able to pin him against the cage and stall or take him down and stall out 5 rounds. What happens in the rest of the fight though? Lol
I’m shocked if jorge doesn’t stop him.
I hope he beats him bad enough to bring out gsp for a super fight.
    That or bring up khabib.
I’ll take masvidal to win either of those fights.

Yeah. He's not my favorite but I knew this guy was a big problem for Woodley and everyone else years out. Masvidal winning would be awesome but Usman is smart and good enough to avoid fighting his fight.

All depends of how he tries to fight him. If he tries to stand with him, then there's a good chance Jorge turns his light out.
