That's true. They managed to bury that story very skillfully really. It could and probably should have been very damaging.
Scousers are always the bloody victims arnt they???... Jamie Carragher ,full of venom and hate, can spit in a little girls face caught on video and do a fake apology and have a couple of months off to 'think about what he did'and keep his job highly paid job on SKY ...WTF Yet some little troll writes a couple of throwaway tweets about Scousers and years later the internet wants him homeless and dipping bins like them lot just because he has a nice watch and has very good Tuesdays.... I dare say its all over for him because if there is 1 thing Scousers are brilliant at its holding grudges .....forever
He shouldn't have called the Liverpool supporters murderers regarding Hillsborough. He went way over the line and his half assed apology doesn't wash with me. **** him off, he's pants anyways.
Umar adds nothing much to the product so its not like he will be missed However bar the content of the cringe update from IFL twitter, they have handled this quite well
The initial reaction from most regards carragher was that he should lose his job. I'm a scouser and don't like what he has said bit taking his age etc into account feel he should be given another chance, there'll be others (others more directly effected by the disaster perhaps) who don't feel this. It was wrong what he said though anyway and doesnt rwally bear any relation to the carragher incident. Let your bitterness on scousers go mate.
This post is very dishonest. I’m in no way defending Carragher, what he did was wrong and he could have no complaints if they terminated his contact permanently. However you’re making it sound like he approached a little girl and intentionally spat in her face. In reality he spat in the direction of a car being driven by a man taunting him whilst driving with his daughter on a motorway. He clearly wasn’t aiming for the girl. Plus he paid the price, he was suspended for a year and had to do a lot of damage control. “Throwaway” tweets is dishonest and shows your bias. Calling someone a dick head is a throwaway tweet, making fun of a situation where children died in a tragic accident isn’t “Throwaway”.
I don't think he said anything regarding Hillsborough, he quoted something from an interview but that is literally not the same as someone saying it themselves. His only tweet that seemed to be his own opinion aimed at Liverpool was calling them bindippers, I really don't think that is such a serious offence. What football fan hasn't called another rival set of supporters a bad name?
People wanted Carragher's head after that and people - as evidenced here - still go on about it, so this isn't entirely accurate.
Exactly. If you were to go around and do a survey, ask 1,000 fans what's the first thing that comes into their heads when you say "Bindippers" the majority will say Liverpool FC, even Liverpool fans would say it! It's not a serious offence at all, is it? Unless you are incredibly precious, which in that case maybe reading things on the internet isn't for you!
These days it's just been used as banter between fans really, has been for years, I'm pretty certain Gary Neville jokingly insulted Jamie Caragher with it live on air before and nobody cared then.
Laughing at a statement is not endorsing it's message. If a comedian makes a joke about murder and the audience laughs are they endorsing murder ?
