Allen seemed all over the place at today’s press conference. Always seems a nice bloke but quite a strange guy

I might put a couple of quid on Darch then, Allen is out of shape, blatantly not been training properly and the beating he took from Price and his lack of success with anything he tried against the plumber could lead to a very disjointed performance against the record padder and a potential shock could be on the cards.

    likewise...

He said he has done nothing except a bit of running and has no trainer either....He isnt any good when he does train with a trainer so you can imagine how awful he will be on Saturday

8 months out of the ring too, he's going to be rusty as hell. Darch is bad and just turns up for the payday but if Allen is gassing after 3 or 4 this could get incredibly messy and the punchbag could steal a points win or even a late TKO if Allen can't keep his mits up when his tank is empty

I still maintain that the Yoka beating was the biggest factor in how he is now...i noticed it after that fight,it was one hell of a sustained beating.....

Plus listeniing to him talking about sparring it sounds like he has been doing heavy spars from day dot ,a practice almost everyone now regards as a wrong thing to do....He seems that this is the way he 'trains' his little harem as well ...

Also the amount of time he said 'brain surgery' in that vid was alarming ,its obviously in the back of his mind

The guy has some ability but he's not got the mentality and size for it.
After the Browne that was a nice little boot to get him some bigger fights in went in against Price and never looked like trying to go forward Price boxed well with some spite but then you see how much success Delboy had just bulling forward and letting your hands go and it shows the level Allen is at. He needs pulling out for his own good.

Putting him in Ortiz was stupid to do it again with Yoka ( i know Yoka didn't have many fights but even so there is level to this stuff) and even at his best its arguable Allan isnt British level.

Sad really I thought after the Whyte fight if he was matched well, trained hard there was a chance he could win domestic title or at least challenge for one. He was a bit too negative in that fight but took the shots well and was sound on defence and once or twice snuck through with punches of his own but its like he doesn't have the dog in him sometimes.

Allen turned up to fight a juiced up, lean Olympic Heavyweight Champion in Paris looking like a bag of s**t and he did it wearing a beret and going on the Tunnel in his tracksuit with his gut out. I know it's a gimmick and his followers found it funny but if what we're being told is true, in the lead up to the Darch fight, he is still not taking the sport seriously enough. You don't play boxing, you can get seriously f**ked up if you don't take it seriously.

The 4 times he's fought anyone remotely decent (can't include a shot to piece Browne),

Whyte - Took the fight at short notice and sacrificed his 0 as he spent 10 rounds being a punchbag for Whyte, who was coming back from shoulder surgery.

Ortiz - Again took the fight at short notice for the payday. Was again a punchbag and took serious punishment whilst never looking like he was going to cause his opponent any trouble, for the second fight in a row.

Yoka - If you're up against a lean Olympic Champion you don't f**k about, Allen did precisely this up until he took his beret off in the ring, he then did very little apart from survive until the 10th round when the ref decided that enough was enough.

Price - Comes in, bizarrely, as the favourite, leaves wearing an oxygen mask and pictured the next day sporting a bashed up cauliflower face as he clutches hold of a few boxes of KFC.

I'm sure Allen is a lovely guy but he really needs to learn before it's too late. I also question the wisdom of anyone that allows themselves to be trained by someone who is seemingly happy to take punishment, what could be the next chapter in Allen's boxing career looks like it be could equally as weird as the current one.

For all of Dave's shortcomings, putting money on Darch is fantasy land and money down the drain. He is ranked 31 out of only 51 British boxers and lost his last 6 (all 1 star fights). What are you expecting here?

It does not matter what he thinks. It is what we think when putting money down. Darch has as much chance of winning as I have of sprouting wings. 1/100 is a gift in that respect.

I'm not expecting anything but hoping for a takeaway for me and my girlfriend off of the back of £2. Whilst I don't think Darch will win I think if there's ever a time for it to happen it could be against the version of Dave Allen that he is coming up against, he's clearly overlooked what is in front of him here. Since Darch last won he's had 8 fights, losing 7 and drawing 1. At the time of fighting each opponent the record of them all combined was 58 wins, 6 defeats and 2 draws, 5 of those fighters were undefeated going into their fights with Darch. I'm not saying he's going to win but he's got a chance given how Allen has seemingly not prepared for this fight. Allen made Lenroy Thomas look like Apollo Creed, partly down to the shorts he wore on the night.

No. The £2 offers you a 1 in 45 million chance of a life changing lottery win, which is much better than zero chance of winning a couple of hundred quid. Dave, for all of his problems can trade with some very dangerous men. Perhaps this will be his last fight, but whatever it is, it will be a win.

I think there's more chance of Darch winning and me having a large special kebab with all the trimmings than there is of me winning the lottery! Dave can get hit by some very dangerous men and still stand, I don't think he really trades with them though.

I get what you're saying but I'm just having a fun punt whilst watching the freakshow that Allen v Darch will turn out to be!
